That's a top class goal too, but I prefer Messi's(and not just because I'm a fanboy).. The difficulty to pull that off in high speed edges it for me, every touch was perfect.

I'd give Messi's goal the edge if you count the run and pass from Banega as part of it

Anybody else notice how many times Messi was on the right flank in the first half? Created lots of chances and there was a lot of width to Argentina attacks. What's the problem with him staying there?

He can't do it for the whole match I think.

His stamina is quite poor tbf.

Calm down, banega is good, but messi needs to link with dybala, im not a fan of dybala but its obvious. Di maria is a efin disgrace, but he is made for unexpected moments. I think that dybala, higuain and messi are the perfect lineup for their attack. Obvious chemistry between juve players and messi(the most intelligent player of our time) means quick link up play with higuain in third role, not second to messi. Dybala needs to step up if they are to win something

He played RW.

Second half when they scored and sat deeper he went central more and couldnt get on ball.

Be better jut being a penalty box poacher at CF if he is that fucked in 2nd half that doesnt move all that much.

I think their best bet going forward is to have something like this imo:

Mercado---Otamendi---Rojo---Acuna
---Lo Celso---Banega---Pavon
------Messi------Dybala
-----------Aguero

Banega should start. Masch is a liability. Dybala is too fucking good not to be on there somewhere. It's ridiculous to me that Sampaoli doesn't accomodate him. Pavon has some speed but him and Meza are simply not good enough to engage in link up play with Messi.

Overall, the lack of composure is frightening. Offensively, they are both anxious and impatient. Defensively, it seems they care more about being physically imposing that winning the ball.

To beat France they have to play well defensively and well as a team, neither traits which this Argie side has.

France really struggles against teams that limit their time and space on the ball.

If Argentina play the same system they're playing now, leaving gaps everywhere, they will be thrashed. They need to be practical, play strong defenders, pacey attackers, defend well and hit them on the counter.

An open ended affair will not end well for Leo and co.

Anyway, the fullbacks are also too poor. In today's game is you don't have decent attacking fullbacks it's impossible to do much of anything.

Tagliafico for example is atrocious at everything. He can't even defend well. Going forward he's horror show. Acuna at least is better at that from what I've seen him at Sporting. Even against us in the CL he was everywhere on that left side. At least he can't be worse than Tagliashito.

Salvio looked lost at RB in first game and poor in second.

Rojo will surely start at LB and he is better than Acuna who just should be nowhere near that squad.

Even Ansaldi is better than likes of Acuna.

I swear could come close to making a better Argies eleven from players who have not started in this WC.
