my man is on fire this season

Yeah that is crazy. I still feel that the previous versions of him were better or at least more fun to watch. Now he is a machine popping up a few times a game and makes the difference - but that special aura around him isnt there as much as before. Maybe its because i got older, i dont know.
The version i kinda liked most was in the start 07-10 were his dribbling and running was insane.

Btw - Ibrahimovic calling out on Ronaldos bullshit "challenge in serie a with juventus". Ibra has always been so respectful to messi - if i remeber correct he said, that if he won the ballon d'or he would give it to messi haha.

His mastery, control of the game is better now then in those early seasons you mention.
He isn't as explosive anymore but playmaking, goalscoring, vision, decisionmaking its all supreme still.

It's over , the treble is coming home.

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi flew to Italy to visit his nutritionist, Giuliano Poser, after being given a day off by head coach Ernesto Valverde. The 31-year-old has total confidence in Poser, who has been in charge of giving him dietary guidelines that allow him to optimise his performance. Messi, who posted a picture of himself in his private jet on social media, asked for his assistance as he looked to solve his muscular problems and vomit issues two seasons ago.

I think considering how much he runs in a game, there's considerable chances he gets more tired with Antonella, than if he plays vs Levante on Thursday.

I cant deny that. I just loved how he slalom run every player in every match back then. For me it was more joyful to watch; so much energy, so much dribbling and so pacey sprinting. He doesnt do that really anymore.
And iirc he was also a better big game player back then. Although this year he does really good, and i think he has realized to prioritize bigger matches even more - and thats great.

Messi just doesn't care about these small time games this season. Going through the motions. People still find a way to complain about it though, as always. We don't need him at 100% vs Eibar as long as he's 100% in the bigger games.

Let him rest vs. Levante. If the rest of the team can't beat them without him then they should all jump off a cliff or something for being fucking useless.

Easy there. He's known to put in low effort in CL as well when the team needs it most.
