Good day for Leo seeing Real Madrid get knocked out and seeing his future team mate De Jong having a good game

Well you did say yourself using the words objective and statistical measures, not trophies and popularity contests among the causal football fan. Trophies is still way ahead for leo unless you ignore their head to head league and cup titles, even the somewhat casual footy fan should recognize league performance as equal to cl knockout rounds. After this year--assuming juv exit the cl to atletico, the causal popularity (and bdo) will shift back to messi. Fickle public.

True, the public has a short memory. If Leo leads Barca to the treble this year, everything they've been saying for past three years about the CL being Ronaldo's competition and him being more clutch than Leo will flip on its head.

Isnt copa america played this year?
Too early to say it.
It would be clear though, if juve failed and barca win the treble. No matter how argentina perform in copa (at least to me).

watching the lyon defenders overplay the predictable messi-alba cutback is going to be hilarious. these past results just make barcas fate seem so inevitable
