9 years ago, when people all over were creaming their pants for Jose, I was the only one on this forum and elsewhere who made the counter-argument. But the fact of the matter is that times changes everything, both us and Jose, riding so high a few years ago, are now deep in the gutter, both our great club and the strong personality of Jose need another chance to restore their lost pride.
As for the "Jose-does-not-fit-our-style" argument, I am not sure about its validity. The "style" we are so proud of, was only possible when Xavi & Iniesta were at their pomp, we have long been unable to recreate anything approaching it, trying (and largely failing) several hybrid styles ever since. Our "style" is also a major weakness in European KO ties. It was one of the reasons why vastly inferior teams such as Inter & Chelsea knocked us out in 2010 & 2012. Also, just look at Pep's pathetic CL record since he left us, it's far worse than ours since then.
I maybe wrong about this, but at the point we find ourselves right now, going for Jose (something probably unthinkable even a few hours ago) does not seem so crazy anymore.
