I said two years ago he should have pushed to leave for Man City with Pep. They'd be incredible with him in the team, instead he's carrying a bad team on his back like with Argentina and he's facilitating it.

Poverty post. Who would want to live in England? Messi had it all at Barcelona

He should not be captain. It just doesn't suit him. He's like Valverde in that respect uninspiring. A captain is not only a leader on the field but off it. He keeps the dressing room in order and is the communication point with the manager. Here we have the captain and manager completely passive.

Give the captaincy to Vidal. At least he has some fire in his belly.

Yeah sick strip Messi of the captaincy, great idea that would go so well in the locker room.

What is a 'captain' suppose to do exactly? This narrative that they need to shout and shit is so annoying, so you want Suarez to be captain? He seems to have those "qualities". People place too much value on an armband. A great team would have leaders throughout the team.

Valverde is the one who needs to start shouting and giving out instructions on the touchline. He may aswell be at home, and have his pre-arranged subs in place.

Yes.
Indeed captaincy has very limited importance in the 21st century.
It's has simply become a symbolic status or stature only.

The captain is usually someone in the green-room whom all players respect and trust. At Barca Messi is most definitely the one.
People who think the captain can really change another 10 players on the pitch at "runtime", are really mistaken...

The weight of Messi's word was the same during Iniesta's captaincy, and Iniesta was also a relatively introvert and shy person...

I dont want to witness the day when Barça fans turn on Messi

The guy who tried to single handedly bring the champions league back to the Camp Nuo..and his "fans" want him to leave the club haha. We have no idea what's going on inside the dressing room.
No one ever thinks maybe the reason his says what he says is because his hands are tied too. There may be far more complications than what we think within management and the board than to just simply get rid of Valverde. If he knows he has to stay for another season, coming out and saying or even slightly hinting that Messi doesn't want him at this club next season will do wonders for him next season, along with the rest of the players. The media will eat this shit up and crucify him/team even more. Say goodbye to another season from the get go.

But no the barcaforum members and so called "fans" know alot more of whats going behind closed doors than the players themselves.:facepalm:
