Mourinho got 3 matches for a gesture, imagine Messi who basically said tournament was rigged. laugh about him? Actually I was laughing for who says he'll be fine after his statements, that's a real illusion.

Mourinho is not in South America and his 'gesture' happened in a game situation..

Messi SHOULD be fine under normal circumstances, because it is out of question that the South American boards are indeed the most corrupt on Earth.
As we all know even FIFA and UEFA are just simply and plainly corrupt, but they are beginners compared to any of their South-American partners...

Because Messi was RIGHT and brave to openly come out with that, only respect is due for him, rather than idiotic sarcasms by the cognitively impaired armchair coaches...

Buffon got 3 matches as well and it wasn't in a game situation

Those 2 years are obviously taken out of thin air and will never materiliaze but a lengthy ban would be great news for us as that would prevent Messi from playing useless games (friendlies and WC qualification games) on the other side of the planet in the middle of the season when Argentina are almost certain to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.

I can't imagine that he would quit his international career in such a fashion so I expect him to take part in next year's Copa América that will be played in Argentina and Colombia. Him being banned in every game before that tournament would be excellent news for the club.

It seems that not a lot is needed for you to be amused.

When was the last time that Argentina failed to qualify for the World Cup? Is anyone seriously doubting them qualifying with or without Messi? If that is the case I find such an opinion truly amusing.

In any case those games are indeed of complete and utter irrelevance for Barça and unlike some on this forum I don't give a crap about how Argentina is doing nor do I subscribe to the FC Messi club that some users likewise seem to subscribe to on this forum.

So yes, if you ask me, those games (friendlies and WC qualifiers) are useless by all accounts from my perspective. Not only that if a lengthy ban prevents Messi from playing even more games and traveling 10.000's of km. in the middle of the season (3 times) even better. That should be self-evident.

You don't need to subscribe into anything my dude. Leo Messi back on his quarterly comedy tour. Be sure to let us know what you're gonna treat everyone with around Christmas time.

Love it!

Your incoherent nonsense, as usual, makes absolutely no sense. Zero comedic value as well. Please carry on trying to get my attention.

They weren’t gonna qualify if it wasn’t for a Messi hat trick. Argentina would have been laughed off. Y the world

Kinda funny seeing Marquinhos and Thiago Silva keep trying to bring up that 6-1 Loss vs us to prove that Messi and Barcelona get the dodgy calls.

Look I don't agree with Messi on some of those quotes but kinda funny seeing those guys of all people try to bring up that 6-1 loss as being a complete dodgy affair on all accounts and the reason PSG lost.

Messi is not surrounded by a good PR cast.

Salute to CR7 team, they coached the most narcisstic fuck in the world to stop buses to take picture with disabled children in his late career thus making him suddenly the good guy of football. Immense job by them.

Messi is the opposite, his whole career seems a genuinley humble quiet guy, and towards the end of a very graceful career he pulls this pathetic shit.. this is insulting to his team mates like arthur, coutinho and ex teammates like alves and neymar. It is a shame because brazilians seem fond of him.

Yeah, I don't agree with what Messi said about the tournament being rigged to Brazil, it just sounds like a lame excuse by a sore loser. Just accept that your team is not good enough and be done with it.

However, saying that Messi can't complain about referee wrong calls against him just because his team was favored in the past is just not a good argument at all. If we consider this, then literally no player have any right to complain about referee at all, since everyone was favored by wrong calls in the past too.

We were discussing this I think 2 y ago. Giving each coach 2 (or 1) VAR assisted challenges per game. Could spice things up depending on how judiciously coaches use those challenges. Dude runs out of challenges on an off-side call and a few min later, ref gives a clown red card to his top player ayayayaiiiiiii

Only got to see the highlights. Good to see Leo and Dyb playing together again

Cool link up at 4:36. Would've been rad if it went in!

that has been my idea all along, cause that is how they (or at least did) it in American football. VAR as it is now is killing football cause you can't feel any excitement for a goal anymore as it might be rescinded – and in this sport, you only get a few goals a game! example: women's semifinal usa - england: england scored the 2:2 equalizer around the 75th and it was offside by a few mm and rescinded by var. I turned the stream off immediately as the emotion I felt for the goal (as I loathe the us team) was totally wasted (and there was no chance england would score another one after that)!

football doesn't get more "fair" by var shit as evidenced in the copa america for example. referees can always cheat if they want, or make mistakes if they are incompetent. all var does is drain the emotion and the flow from the best sport there is. nobody outside of the pitch should interfere with the game, that alone is completely absurd! but at the very least like mentioned above the coaches should be the ones to make the calls. 1 per half of the game plus a second call if they get the first one right. and it can't take 5 min every time to make a check
