I believe the best we can do is a draw. I just have a hard time to see RM losing.
But if we start with a 3-4-3 I don't think I will be able to watch this game.

I think that the most fascinating thing about this Clasico is the level of work rate Mourinho has Real Madrid committing to every game. both Chelsea (09) and Inter (10) were defensively orientated but got lucky goals (Essien's wunderstrike and Inter's personal volcano, Eyjafjallajökull, allowing them to gradually wear down an exhausted team after 14-hour, 2-day, 982km road trip). However, both of those teams weren't as dynamic from an attacking point that this Real Madrid team is. This Real Madrid team is capable of defending (viciously, if need be), stifling Barça's attack through sustained pressure, and attacking Barça's defense both via possession and the counter-attack. Real Madrid is the proverbial "Blood Pack" to Barça's "Blade".

But Barça has already faced this team twice, and escaped with a lucky draw (thank you, MaraVilla) and a classic 3-2 win (thank you, Lionel Messi) despite being fatigued and out-played over 180 minutes. And it's really that performace in the SuperCopa that has me hesitant to declare that Real Madrid will finally reverse Pep's success in the Bernabeau. There is something about Barça that just doesn't allow them to quit in big matches. We've seen it since the Pep-era started. Doesn't matter what the situation is or who is missing in defence (or attack for that matter), they find a way to win. The only failure was vs Inter, and they had massive help from a freaking volcano (we'll ignore the ref's missed penalty in the 1st leg in lieu of Sergio Busquets playing peek-a-boo in the 2nd leg).

Maybe I'm just trying to rationalize my denial. maybe I'm just drinking the kool-aid. I dunno. This is going to be a heart-pounding, nerve-wracking, ugly, UGLY, game. If we escape with a draw I'd be happy.

Fixed.

Cesc created that last goal with his off-ball movement. I know that it was a collective effort, but his in-the-moment reading of the situation and movement completely unhinged Real Madrid's bus. it was brilliant. as someone who didn't want Cesc it was a moment of "wow-this-could-be-really-good" intelligence.

The last goal alone didnt win us the super-cup.. Messi gave a brilliant Assist to Iniesta for the first, scored a magnificent second and an even better third... all in all, it was a team effort but if we had to thank one player for it, it would have to be Lionel Messi. Fabregas just played the last 9 mins or so. He was involved in the third goal, but it wasnt even his assist.

Pep's Barca have never failed a big game.

Only exception was 1st leg Inter, when the team was undone by a grueling schedule and the stupidest bus ride in the tumultuous history of humanity.*

The SuperCopa games for me, underline how superior this Barca are to anything that Florentino and Jose can throw at them.

We were at 10% fitness, and they still could not beat us.

If our intensity and off-the-ball movement matches that of games like the kickassico, the Wembley final, or the 1st semi last season, then Madrid can beat us only through sheer fortune, or ref aid.

People are naively fooled by Madrid's victories this season, saying that they have improved since last. But what team did they beat this season, that they failed to beat during the last?

The Patheticos, Asspanyols, Ajaxes, Lyons, Zaragozas, Racings and Zagrebs were smashed just as well during the previous season, and even the one before.

Only exception was Lyon, thanks to shocking errors from Iker, and Gonzalo.

As for us.

We have suffered a bit from experimentation, injuries, fatigue, arrogance (we are more than entitled to lots of that) and an unwillingness to spend any more energy than that deemed appropriate for each and every opponent. Just look at our games, our players rarely get into third gear. If at all. Keep also in mind that Madrid were looking better than us last season as well, just before the heroic 5-0.

:D

*Plus, no Iniesta, and additionally, a shockingly ineffectual Ibra.

Why can't Dalitis say that Barça will lose this game? I'd feel more relaxed if he did so, coz you know him and his predictions...well...!
