Then in the next Season, we wanted Forlan, but then Laporta stepped in and said that he want his "toy" Henry. So, Forlan was a player who was supposed to play for us. He was scoring that much because he was insanely good in those days)

We play ALL THE TIME with MSN.
Real had injuries to some key players.
Also, Real rest their players in some crappy cup matches, while most of our players need to statpad in every single match.
Because everyone are obsessed with goals and statpading lately.

If Real's players would statpad in cup matches, they would have 4 players with 25+ goals this Season.

Cup goals doesnt count ? And statpad in cup matches? 4 of the 6 goals neymar did there, 2 were against atletico and 2 against Villarreal, are they bad teams? We statpadded in a 3-2 match?

Bale played 2 in the cup and benzema 3, but they also played 2 full matches in the Supercopa, neymar didnt

So neymar played the same as benzema if you count the supercopa, and 1 less than Bale

The point is why single out Neymar for it when they all do it.

Both Suarez and Messi have missed sitters as bad as Neymars on Saturday so nothing unique to him. If you agree with that then fine.

Neymar's big goals this season. I may be forgetting some, so people feel free to correct me.


1. Reduced arrears vs PSG away with a brilliant curler. Crucial goal, very tough opponent.

2. Scored another brilliant opener vs Real Madrid in the Bernabeu. Mega goal, mega opponent.

3. Once Sevilla equalized against us in the first round, he made it 2-1 straight away with a good header. Good goal, good opponent.

4. Made the score 2-1 vs PSG with a brilliant run and finish right before half time. Remember that the draw was a bad result for us. Uber-critical goal vs very, very strong opponent (with all them Verrattis, Lucas, Ibras, Mottas, Silvas, Marquinhos etc etc etc, players that this forum lionizes the whole time)

5. Scored the opener vs Atletico. Nothing spectacular, but a good predatory finish after excellent work from Messi. Super-important goal vs a very good opponent that destroyed our dreams last season.

6. Scored an astonishing equalizer vs Atletico in the away Cup game. You keep repeating that somehow Cup goals do not count, but Simeone and his layers did not seem to agree with you on that day. Full-strength team, and totally livid once they realized there was not coming back for them.

7. Scored the winner vs Atletico in the same game after they were awarded a ludicrous penaldo. Another beautiful and crucial goal against a very strong opponent.

8. Scored the opener vs PSG away in a CL QF. Cool finish to launch our triumph in the tie.

9. Scored a beautiful opener vs PSG in the home game, to further take things away from PSG. Another mega-goal.

10. Scored a very clinical header against PSG again, to bury the tie once and for all. PSG practically almost game up after that which allowed our team to take it easy from there on then.

11. Scored the 0-2 against Sevilla. It should definitely have been the clincher of that game.


He has also scored several other openers and crucial goals vs good opponents etc. Clearly, Neymar's contribution is far greater than what mere stats suggest. Scoring against useless or already defeated opponents is wholly pointless. But many of Neymar's goals have been super-crucial for our very good season so far. There are no two ways about it.

I have criticized Neymar when he deserved it, Rafi, Lucho, etc.. but always came back to assess the overall performance and praise them when it's deserved, and for the excellent season we're having which is to everyone in the team's credit, I have never been disrespectful to any member, and you being the admin doesn't give you the right to insult me, I'm still a human being you know, I expect to be threated as one.

Please, go ahead and ban me, I wouldn't want to trash your party anymore than I already have.

Missing sitters against Cordoba is nothing for us to worry about. We do not like seeing that but we also know that it is pointless. Neymar scoring against Bayern in a couple of days is worth way more than the "damage" caused by missing against Cordoba. There is zero equivalency between the two.

The only thing I hate about Neymar is that he has god like status here even though he hasn't done much so far. Now, he has a chance.
So, I don't know why should he be given more credit than say....Pique or Mascherano not to mention Xavi or Iniesta. About comparisons with other non Barca players, I would say he belongs to top 10 players, definitely not top 5 just yet.

Neymar has the best conversion rate of all 3 strikers at Barca (and possibly the best conversion rate in Europe for players with 20+ goals).

I don't get why Neymar keeps getting singled out every week, of course he can improve his overall play. But so can 81 million Suarez, who has the worst passing accuracy on the team and seems to misplace 5 yard passes my grandma could make. Is it because his hair is not flamboyant, and he runs around a lot and shows 'hunger'?

Runs less, works less for the team, presses less, has weaker stamina, slower, weaker in arial duels, Ney more often has hot and cold days.

Try harder.

Some people are just uber-biased against Neymar. The mere fact that some of you are mentioning the meaningless dead rubber that was the Cordoba game so that you have something to accuse Neymar with is just very telling of your agenda.

Just to find one game in which Eto'o was appalling (and a crucial one at that) and was subbed in disgust by Pep was the Getafe v Barcelona game of 08/09. Eto'o missed sitter after sitter in that game. I am sure that none of you bitched at all about Eto'o after that game. This is just one example. For another, Eto'o did not touch the ball vs Chelsea in the 2009 semis.
