I don't think that Neymar should've been allowed to go to Brazil for his sister's birthday.

It's too late for that now, this is obviously gonna be a recurrent thing, we better just get used to it, his sister obviously doesn't want to party in Barcelona for her birthday since that's such a lame city, Brazil 10000km away is the way to go :D

I just hope that if next season it comes at a time where we have some decisive game, she's kind enough to postpone it a few days to accomodate Barça

When did he get out of his slump last season btw ? It was around this time iirc no ?

Cause all this will be forgotten and forgiven (on my part at least) if he comes back from there firing on all cylinders for the remaining of the season ! :neymar:

I don't blame the sister though I blame Neymar. I don't know what Barca's policy is on this but this creates bad precedence. Like someone pointed out: what if every player starts asking time-off to attend a first-degree family member's birthday. That woud be a lot of time-off. Regardless of if it being an important period within the season or not.

But I don't know the inner workings of Barca well enough to have a strong opinion on this matter.

I think it's not fair asking Lucho when you know that he doesn't have any other option then saying "yes". I'm pretty sure, considering expectations and all the task ahead of us, that he wouldn't allow it.
And especially when you know how much you're getting from the club...and you're also expecting a raise...it's not fair, but if he manages to deliver great performance at the end...than it doesn't matter.

There is no barça "policy" about this, it's comon sense, this puts the club in a very bad position if any other player decides he wants to choose his own holidays too, and it's only happening because it's Neymar, and him and his father have the club by the balls, that is all :)

I don't know, seems to me that Lucho is exactly the kind of person who can say "no" if he wants.

Not to Neymar, not this season.

This was a loose-loose situation for both Lucho and the club, only beneficiary = Neymar.

Why didn't Enrique say no last season, then? The same thing happened. I don't think he would've asked if there was a game midweek.

Depends on Lucho's and the clubs assessment of Neymar. If they, based on his performances at training or whatever, think a little more rest wouldn't harm him...

I know this is sooo crazy, but what if Lucho's top priority is to keep neymar not just fit, but happy as well, and this is a very reasonable compromise ?

No ? Ok, no. :cigar:

Really ? after he did arrange to go twice you think a game mid-week would have stopped him ? interesting :)

It's so funny how you guys keep on defending the undefendable here, Neymar did what he wanted no matter lucho, the club, the other players, for a second year in a row, this is a fact, and apparently a part of the package deal he is, and I'm not overly upset about it if he comes back in full form as I already said before, but your relentlessness in saying "all is good, all is love" is hilarious

That's just you speculating on what's going on in the club. Enrique is not a coward. I really don't believe he'd have problems saying no if he thought it mattered. I don't think Neymar has that kind of power, or that he doesn't do as he is told. That's why is all good. I see no problems going on, on or off field here. I also doubt the sport piece is real, Enrique wouldn't let captains decide that.

And yes, if the ucl match was this week, he wouldn't miss it.

But why didn't Enrique say no last season, as if, like you said, he wouldn't say no this season?

Why wouldn't Lucho let the captains weigh in on this ? I actually think it's a good thing if it happened as they represent the players, and them too could feel a bit upset that they can't choose their own holidays like Neymar, just because his worry free little sister wants her birthday to be in Brazil.

And yes of course he wouldn't miss a UCL game, but he missed the Eibar one, but you're gonna tell me it was of the same caliber as Getafe at home of course :coffee:

Anyway, all is good, all is love then

You said Neymar "did what he wanted no matter lucho, the club, the other players", but you think the captains had a say, and Enrique let them weigh in? I thought Neymar was doing whatever he wanted. I still don't understand why enrique couldn't say no to him this season, but also didn't last season, pre-treble.
