Just thought about something, this is gonna be hilarious when some of you will bitch about Dunga calling him for friendlies instead of letting him rest in Barcelona :rofl1:

Because playing actual games with risk of injury is the same than going around doing nothing?

You said Neymar "did what he wanted no matter lucho, the club, the other players", but you think the captains had a say, and Enrique let them weigh in? I thought Neymar was doing whatever he wanted. I still don't understand why enrique couldn't say no to him this season, but also didn't last season, pre-treble.

You keep on pretending it's nothing unordinary when he repeated the exact thing from last season and obviously planned his suspensions and his trip/party beforehand.
Also, I don't see other key players doing the same.

And you know full well that Lucho was in a sticky situation back then just like the club is now with Ney contract negotiations. And yeah, Neymar knows this and milks it.

Some of his fans defended him for one day trip party, now for 3 day trip party and will defend him if he decides to do whatever he likes.

As I said, it's not disrupting the team. If he does or says something to hurt the team or the club, then there's something to complain about. So far there's absolutely no problem, no incident. Nothing to complain about.

Enrique was in a tricky situation last year, and this year, what is the excuse? It seems you think the coach is spineless, then.

If all Neymar milks to renew is to go to his sister b-day party... That's kind of unimaginative from him. Still, strange the players like him, as he seems to be manipulative like that.

Who said Lucho was spineless?

He knows can't force anything though with situation we are in.
He actually did the best thing he could with his back against the wall and difused it with captains weighing in.

Neymar deliberately got himself booked as he planned to attend parties in Brazil last year and this year.

If you see nothing wrong with it, you need to repeat that few times until it sinks in.

Was going to say the same thing.

Lucho most likely agreed he could go back and knew about booking to get suspension out of way.

Suarez was back in Liverpool in recent days. Players look almost like they are being told to get away from football at moment when they can.

I think this is blown out of proportion. He can't force anything you say? I think that if Luis Enrique truly thought it would be better for Neymar to be here, Neymar would be here. Lucho showed us his stubborness last year.
Things are going well, Neymar still probably looked fatigued and we were playing Eibar who were in bad shape.

Neymar deliberately got himself booked as he planned to attend parties in Brazil last year and this year.

So what exactly are you saying? Are you saying that Neymar got himself booked so he can party?
Or he was already allowed to go to Brazil, but booked himself so he doesn't risk suspension in future games?

And I will say again: it's not hurting the team. Neymar can get booked deliberately as much as he wants, if the coach doesn't allow him to travel, he won't. By the way you're talking, it does look as Enrique is spineless, as he's bending to Neymar's every wish. Enrique is giving him permission, so yes, I'm ok with this. I doubted him in the past and he proved me wrong. I trust his judgment now.

And sport is the only media with the captains's being involved story. It's funny how they're suddenly reliable.

I never understood why people got mad about that anyway. The national team barely meets 4-5 times a year, of course the coaches will call all their important players. As it is, South American teams are at a disadvantage because unlike Spain, Germany, Italy etc they don't have strong cores with players from the same club. Now imagine if the important players can't even go to international weeks

I understood when Pique got his booking at Arsenal, that was calculated and the intent was to benefit the club in later rounds.

But I find this Neymar booking/suspension a bit worrying if it was done for purely personal reasons. If that's the case then it's out of order.

Hopefully it won't affect his play etc, but I've got my eye on him atm ;)

Lol obviously this was calculated guys cmon...Lucho is calculating bastard. He did it gazillion times and he did it this time. I think Neymar will probably do good if he has something else on his mind for few days, leave the kid alone. I think as well Lucho gives them time off since the schedule last 3 months was BRUTAL, and coach stuff knows they need some "time off".

I totally understand the need for players to have time for their social lives and to get away from football... but it isn't exactly normal for players to plan things like this ahead of time and deliberately miss certain games.

Here's the thing, he got booked to missed the Eibar game. Eibar are not a very strong team but its still an away game where we could drop points ( won 2-0 their last season in a game where they hit the crossbar ) . Its not unfeasible that Messi pulls up in training and then suddenly we have to filed Suarez, Munir, Sandro.. Suarez has an of day and suddenly we drop points. I've said it before that I believe the league is over but its still a risky move to purposely miss an away game.

Anyway its not a big deal as we survived without him but imagine the chaos if 3 , 4 or even 5 players every season did the same thing, eventually it would bite us in the ass.

How do you know that Flavia ? Seriously, imagine in a couple months some Alba's cousin is getting married in Australia and he's on 4 yellows, how could lucho or the club say no without causing discontent ? they couldn't say no right ? do you think they'd be happy to say yes ?

Just stop for 5sec with your tribalism and answer those questions then assess for yourself.

Lol at "the players like him", right, wait till it's a choice between liking themselves and considering they deserve the same right to choose their holidays mid season (for a phony reason in the grand scheme of a possible trebble) and we'll see who likes who.

It's pretty clear Barcelona is actually not on Neymar's top priority list. He's one of the only players who is looking like he could stop Barca from winning a repeat treble.

So sad because earlier in the season I actually thought he was improving rapidly on the way to being almost as good as Messi. Right now, he's easily the weakest of the front 3.
