So, this is pretty much the best that Dembele had to offer last season.

Honeslty, I am far from being impressed.

So sloppy, ball touch far from being sharp enough, surely fast in open play but I've seen faster players (also, he is 20, he will be slower with the years), monothematic dribbling, not that much agile and pretty rusty in small spaces (and tight spaces between defenders is what he will have to face 95% of the times by playing in Barcelona). On the pros side, I can see a good vision and understanding of the pitch for such a young age, but not that much else, always in relation to the expectations and his current, crazy price of course.

For sure, the guy is young, they can work on him and he will improve, but I really don't see anything so damn special... Because yes, with 150 millions for a kid of 20 years what I EXPECT is a potential phenomenon who can make history, literally.

If this is the best that current football has to offer in terms of potential talent than the level got awfully lower than before.... 150 millions for 20 years old Dembele, then I wonder how much a 20 years old Lionel Messi would cost today.

Good news if true.

But we could theoretically get a possible fourth player. But we need to start selling off some shit. We have plenty of players who are Expendable as of right now.

we have been blessed and spoilt by Messi. we will likely never see a player like him again in our lifetimes. i know its a cliché thing to say but i really believe it.

the price is astronimical for a 20 year old i agree but there are atleast 4-5 clubs who would and could pay that. United, City, Madrid, PSG, heck even Chelsea would kill to have someone with the potential this kid has. playing next to Suarez and the Goat he'll learn a lot which can only elevate him as a player.

people will complain about the price (which won't matter as much since PSG will probably spunk 160m on Mbappe) but when we do our 'bargain' shopping and bring in players like Gomes, Arda etc.. for once I hope the board go all in on this one.

I'm curious to exactly how much money we have.

Since we were chasing Verratti I'm assuming we had around 100m or so to spend on a midfielder this summer so Barto's 60m summer budget claim has to be pure BS.

Even for a 20 year old I don't think what you see in that video is particularly impressive. I can understand why someone would be underwhelmed.

Last summer we spent a lot of money as well, despite claims of us having at least 60 mil in the bank.

Honestly I have no idea how much we truly have. We have the money we were willing to spend on the likes of Coutinho and possibly Verratti and the Neymar money. But I'm curious myself on where the money for Coutinho and Verratti came from.

Maybe we are borrowing from next seasons budget for that?

Dembélé + Coutinho who be a huge plus for us, if we manage to bring them both. I have seen close to every match Coutinho has played for the Reds and he is world class quality through and through.

As for Dembélé, he has the potential to be a part of a new, reinvigorated Barcelona and his ceiling is quite high for a player of his age. His passion for Barcelona is also compelling, I'd go for him over Mbappé any day of the week.

On another topic, we need to see Arda, Douglas, Munir, Vermaelen and one of Andre Gomes or Rafinha leave. If we can manage to offload them all while getting in Dembélé and Coutinho, I will personally vote for Barto come next election. Even if he's not on the ballot.

I feel like we borrow from "Next season's" budget every season nowadays.

More than likely though Barto is just full of shit. We weren't going to make many signings this summer lol
