Barca reported that the fee was €105 million up front for the player plus some add-ons, which were not specified. Later on, Borussia Dortmund said that the add-ons could increase the fee by 40% and Bartomeu confirmed this on Monday.

Bartomeu explained that the add-ons were 50% contingent on the player’s performance and 50% on the performance of the team. In other words, €20 million depend on what Dembélé brings and €20 million on how Barça get on in all competitions.
