He didn't make the France Squad. which imo is good since he hasn't trained for like two weeks and he get back into shape during this international break with Valverde and the players who didn't go on duty.

The nostalgia is really blinding people to exactly how average Neymar was for us most of the time, Dembele won't be much of a downgrade if any at all.

I don't see any reason why we wouldn't look as good as we did with Neymar's last season here. That is not so high standard after all.

Dembele was my first choice for the transfer window, and I am really happy he will play for us and think he will be a wonderful addition to the team.
But that doesn't mean I automatically rate Dembele above Neymar, I don't think anyone should.
Let me ask you this: if the team starts to play great this season will we really chalk that up to Dembele having replaced Neymar, or could it maybe be because of improved tactics and midfield?
Who said anything about rating Dembele above Neymar? Dembele is 20 years old. We are talking about the team. The team is what is important here. Neymar took up a lot of space, he demands this, and we might be better off with a different type of player. Dembele can move effortlessly between right and the left. Messi perhaps will be more centrally as a result, it all has an effect on the game we play, so its not a given that we would be better off with Ney.

Imagine a team where all problems are fixed but only LW position is yet to be filled in. I believe that in a team like that filling that position with Neymar over 20 year old Dembele would make the team stronger. Neymar's (if poor) tactics I believe had a lot to do with the team being unbalanced and poor tactics.
Imo it is irrelevant if Dembele will contribute as much, a little less, or a bit more to the team's strength than Neymar. Like you said, it is the team that is important here. If our team gets more balanced then we will become a stronger team compared to previous two seasons. I just want to see midfield improving at this point.
