Suarez found it hard to connect with him and all I see was Messi the one trying to connect with both Suarez and Neymar. The stats showed it all.
Neymar much more talented? I dont know. Dembele is statistically (goals, assist, chance created, dribbles etc) better in Europe then Neymar was at his first season here (22yr old).It only took less than 20 mins for Dembele to create a goal.
Neymar was a much better talent individually, no doubt. But he became less team oriented over the years, compared to when he first came to Barca - he was humble, ready to learn, became a better team player than when he was in Santos. It was how he played that formed MSN and played the vital role in Barca's treble to 2015.
However, while his confidence grew, it overflowed and fed to his ego, turning him back to his old self back in Santos. He was entertaining to watch for sure, but it wasnt effective, it just led to him drawing useless fouls and losing the ball. Suarez found it hard to connect with him and all I see was Messi the one trying to connect with both Suarez and Neymar. The stats showed it all. I remember he was trying to dribble down the flank alone against PSG 1st leg, and Neymar fans claimed nobody supported him then. But he cant possibly dribble alone when the opponents were comfortably sitting back in their half. It became disastrous and led to the infamous 4-0 in Paris.
Neymar lacked the team understanding Pedro, Sanchez had. Im sure Dembele loves Barca alot and would definitely connect on the same level with Messi and Suarez. Defo a very shy and introverted kid but I would take that over an inflated ego. Barcelona was never about one player. Even till today Messi was still very much the humble team player when he was at the age of 19. Thats what made him so special even till today.

In the beginning of the 15/16 season Messi was injured for two months.
Suarez and Neymar took over and by great understanding between the two, both scored a lot and the team won most games and won spectacularly...
Lol at people comparing 20 years old Dembele with 26 years old Neymar. Also for those saying Neymar is not team oriented, I say shame on you. A player's role in the pitch is mainly dictated by the manager. Look at PSG now, Neymar is playing the Messi role and setting crazy key passes
. Understandbly, though, he's definitely overgrown himself and learnt alot from his compatriot Messi.
They are no compatriots. I would say even they are fierce rivals.
He was spectacular that season without a doubt. But I was referring more to season 16/17 where he became more self driven and kinda lost focus on the team's fundamental play.
Well, you've said he didn't have "that" good understanding with Suarez, which was definitely not the case. When Messi was unable to play back then, the two of them were spectacular without Messi.
