Recovery time reduced by 14 days. This is a good sign. I just hope they don't rush him.

It was 3-4 months originally anyway, so 3 and a half about right.

The worry is when you get players who become prone to these muscle injuries. Look at someone like Di Maria. Dembele's a player who relies on his pace, so if his hamstrings aren't right then it's a worry. Michael owen was never the same player after his hamstring went. He lost his explosive pace and became injury prone.

The best predictor of injuries is previous injuries (look at Rafinha). So we've got to be careful we haven't got another crock on our hands.

I do wish we'd pulled out all the stops for Mbappe. He could have replaced Neymar and Suarez.

I think we'll never know how injury prone he is until he is 23-25. He is quite young, so recovering from this shouldn't be a problem. The thing is that he shouldn't start a match before February. If he is eased back into playing, we should be good.

Also speaking about Mbappe, how do you know that he won't be injury prone in the next 5 years? A career defining injury can happen to any footballer, and Dembele's probably isn't one as long as we treat it right.

That all said, we should really buy Thomas Lemar in January to have some options on the wings.

He isn't injury prone for all we know.

It's just bad luck.

To be listed as injury prone, one needs to suffer from repeated injuries, which is 100% not the case here.

I've watched Asensio a lot and he is fucking impressive. He deserves the hype, he's really good

Most (if not all) of his hype have come from scoring fantastic goals.

His overall play isn't that impressive though, but he's still young and can improve on that matter.

We have invested a lot in dembele, so we need to take care if him, like we did with messi. I remember messi always used to get hamstring injuries when he was younger and then we changed his diet and made a plan to reduce his injuries.

Barcelona is certainly doing that. That's why he had the operation in Finland. They have one of the best doctors for this type of injuries.

Here's article about Dembele. Finnish Doctor and FC Barcelona doctor talk about the injury and what's going to happen in his recovery stage.

Article is in Finnish, but I will try to translate the most important points.

Apparently his parents and FC Barcelona doctor Ricard Pruna was with him in Finland. Dembele will return to Spain as soon as possible. He will return on plane and he will be laying down during the whole flight, so he doesn't have to put any pressure on his leg.

According to Pruna, Dembele hurt his left leg's biceps femoris -muscle. It's one of the strongest muscles and it controls the movement of leg. At first Dembele will have to use some help for walking, but soon he'll be able to walk and then starts coming back to game form, which starts from water walking.

They will build exact diet for Dembele to get the best possible recovery, which will be controlled all the time.

In FC Barcelona every player is tested with some "genetest" to determine metabolism type. Some bodies use more fat and some carbohydrates and based on that we build their diets.

Pruna tells Barcelona wanted to cut Dembele in Turku, Finland, because Lempainen and Orava(Doctors) are specialized in soft tissue surgeon and he said their doctors in Spain don't know it as well as them.

He says he has seen many players during his 22 year career, which been cut, but not well enough, which might leave their muscles weaker in the future and that means their abilities decreased.(Meaning, why they went for the best surgeons)

Finnish doctor(Lempainen) said there was no sign of earlier injury, which could have caused pain and perhaps it was only bad luck and even Barcelona doctors were surprised by the injury.

Orava operated earlier for example David Beckham etc. He is world famous for what he does.

Lempainen says Dembele is expected to come back during start of January, If things go according to their plan.

He'll bounce back. He's young, his body will heal and recover fast. I think we should ease him back gradually once he starts training again.
