Difference between him and Neymar is that Neymar would get suspended deliberately to go partying in Brazil, also he partied when in Barcelona on regular days. I mean, that is the guy who at PSG this season went to Brazil due to a family emergency and was caught going to his dentist and attending a friend's father's bday party while his team mates were playing games.

He traveled to a place not even that far from Barcelona for one day during the two days he was off.

And well, humble, family man Coutinho faked a back injury for weeks while he played for Brazil to come to Barça last summer too. It's just that Klopp and Liverpool turned out more stubborn than anyone thought.

I think he is running away from trouble at home between his parents.

He doesn't drink, so a night in a club during a day off is not a tragedy. Every player did their thing yesterday. Paco and Roberto were apparenty playing videogames (Fortnite doubles) yesterday evening, Umtiti was visiting Barca museum to take children in hospitals on tour of it and Dembouz went clubbing. Even Messi usually goes on trips during days off with his family.

As long he is not drinking or staying at the club until 6 a.m., I don't see any problem with him going out.

What is the difference of spending an evening in a club or playing video games until 2am? If there are no drugs or alcohol involved, none.

Don't think that's the case. Kid acted like a complete cunt towards his club, ignored (hid) injury, then couldn't maintain a normal diet and doesn't make significant effort to blend in. All in 6 months. Now he is flying on vacations on a different continent but he, apparently, can't have a "life" if he doesn't do that instead of working hardest to repay the club and fans all that he failed to deliver by now.

He really does strike me as a dumb kid.

What proof do you have he's not working hard? Should he go alone in the stadium on an off day and train by himself? If you hate him irrationally fine. Just don't try to justify it to us.
