Valverde benching Dembele=Dembele sucks is lol worthy.
Hard to trust Valverde when he comes off as a man afraid of his own shadow.
when did anyone say he sucks? He's just not as good as Mbappe. Sane, or Asensio are right now

Oh plenty of people have tried to use Valverde's reasoning of not playing him as a sign that he might not be good enough.when did anyone say he sucks?

People, haven't you heard? Asensio has the BEST left foot ever!!!!11 It is known. FACT.
I hope it is intended for sarcasm. Because Messi has the best left foot. Haha
And, Asensio is surely a big talent. But, having the 2nd best leg foot isn't enough to be the best, you need to produce numbers. To me, he looks like more of an impact sub for now, when opposing defenders are tired. He isn't that effective in those matches he has started, in UCL SF 1st leg he came late and scored one, while when he started the 2nd leg he went missing for the whole game, only to be substituted later. And, Best of all, While you guys criticize Dembele for his defending, just see the SF 2nd leg, Alaba was all over Asensio, he was easily putting crosses and Asensio couldn't do anything.
While Dembele may not have the best leg foot, he is ambidextrous, and has godly speed and acceleration, plus his crossing is also pretty good. If he improves his finishing and gets a coach who plays to his strengths, he can be a lethal player, even more than Asensio.
It is well said, "Grass is always greener on the other side".
One of the things I was excited about with Valverde is his handling of youth at Bilbao and that he would bring that here to Barcelona. But sadly as we can see that did happen.
I wouldn't consider Valverde a god awful manager, but one that simply isn't forward thinking enough, especially for a club like ours. I want him to prove me wrong next season and I hope he does. But Right now I just can't see it.
He took Lucho's old XI without Ney and really didn't add much new to it. Paulinho played a lot but he's more of a 12th man guy kinda guy and we all know about Gomes,Vidal etc. We got Coutinho but Valverde doesn't really know what to do with him as he's played at LW,RM,LM and even CM.
It's crucial that Valverde needs to be more forward thinking in rebuilding the XI, we can't rely on the same players all the time.
I'm afraid that Valverde forgot what happened when he played Paco as a RM in a couple of games this season. It was horror. And now, with Griezmann coming, we are again putting all our eggs in one basket, believing that this system will work with Griezmann. Yes, Griezmann is a better player, but I have a lot of doubts about it.
P.S. I believe that if Dembele is loaned/sold this summer, the Barca fanbase will go apeshit.
Nah. MD and Sport will make it out to be a masterpiece business move.
Sorry to say it, but the club doesn't give a shit about us foreign fans so better get used to it. A significant part of Spanish Barca Twitter are still calling Suarez for the best #9 in the World.
The delusion is strong. I bet they could even justify selling Messi.
I know that and it's sad. The fact is that our club and most of Barcelona-based fanbase is digging their heads into the sand, because they don't want to realise that Messi won't be here forever. We have around 4-5 years to get ready for that, because at that time Leo will either become an impact player or leave for Boca. But we are buying forward after forward after forward, with an odd defender here and there. But everybody fails to realise that transition from Messi era to post Messi era would be made much easier, if we had a functioning midfield. Now, with Iniesta leaving, the only creative force in our MF is Coutinho, who isn't even condsidered a midfielder by Valverde (lol). Who do we have next in line? Denis? Lol. Next year, we will pray that Coutinho doesn't get injured, otherwise we are fucked. Same as we do now with Leo, but there will be twice the risk.
Also, everybody we buy is compared to Leo which is an utopia. He is the most unique player ever, so forget it. If we keep doing that, we will keep selling /loaning every player we get ASAP. We need some patience and long-term thinking, badly. Because if we don't do that, we are fucked when Messi retires/leaves for Boca/becomes an impact player.
I agree. The squad planning is just a disgrace and they're hardly criticized for it locally in Barcelona.
Only one thing: Messi is a Newell's and River fan, not Boca
Boca's for Mr. Crackhead and the unstable fatass Tevez, and all the other cheats in Argentina and Latin America.
