For me, it's of utmost importance that he produces numbers. That's what gives you confidence.

He hasn't reached expectations, but that's normal. Reaching them with a price tag of 150m on your back would be immense.

I think he'll come good for us.

If Barto and friends have a bit of a brain left Dembele will still be a Barca player when nobody is talking about Valverde anymore.

He is such a great talent and could be a starter for the next 10 years if we don't fuck it up now and help him to improve.

As per transfermarkt :

Asensio Market value : 75 million euros.
Ousmane dembele Market value : 80 million euros.

Now, Let's look at their stats this season, (In La liga, CDR & CL)

Ousmane dembele : P:24 G:2 A:7 (Contributed to 9 goals in 24 matches)

Marco Asensio : P:45 G:9 A:5 (Contributed to 14 goals in 45 matches)

The current market value of both players is nearly the same, but we can see from the stats, that the stats of Ousmane Dembele are superior despite being his debut season in new city, new system, new language, new coach & new league. While, Asensio is playing his second season, in the same city, under the same system, same language & the same coach & same league.

Still, RM fans rave about Asensio, saying how great he has been, the best youngster in world, next raul, blah blah. And, we just keep criticize dembele about his lack of defending, not that sound with tactics, dumb, lazy and all that. Despite, the stats show a different story. So, be a better human being and try to encourage our youngsters. If you want to criticize, atleast give him some time.

(Many people will argue that Dembele was bought for 110M + bonus, while Asensio was bought for 3.5M. But, they fail to realize that its not the player's fault, it was because of poor negotiation from our board, in fact the player went on a strike to move to us, he did his best. That's why, I have compared both the players with their current market value, because that's their actual worth.)

one is more reliable than the other, really basic stuff c'mon now.

this stat does not mean anything. Asensio is much better player then dembele and dembele will never get to the level of Asensio. i would rather have Asensio than dembele in the team.

Rating him higher than a guy that's been dropped for Aleix Vidal and Sergi Roberto isn't overrating him. Dembele hasn't shown anything this season to justify being above any of the other players I listed.

Not his fault Valverde is so scared of losing that he would probably play every CM in the squad over him just to have more defensive work on the field. Vakverde would probably bench these 3 too because Suarez is untouchable and he wants to play his beloved 4-4-2 there is no room for fast attackers lol

And he not only was screwed by EVs tactics but also two injuries so rating him based on this season is pretty pointless.

He is an incredible talent and if we get him back on track he will show it for us too.

Valverde benching Dembele=Dembele sucks is lol worthy.

Hard to trust Valverde when he comes off as a man afraid of his own shadow.
