Only gripe I have about Dembele in general is that he doesn't fight for the ball even when there is 50% chance for him to win the ball. He definitely doesn't do Arial duels to win the ball, which makes me groan.

He has talent, but talent alone is not enough to succeed at Barca.

Pedro showed what one can achieve at Barca even with his limited skill set.

Dembele needs to be so good at training that EV has no other option than starting him. I hope he stays with Barca and fights for his place.

Apparently this is what Valverde actually said:

"Who has said that?" Valverde responded when asked if the former Borussia Dortmund forward could leave the club. "Of course we think that he will still be with us next season."

This is not the first time that Barca Centre translated something inaccurately.

Liked that he took it by himself for the final goal. We were too predictable at times when both Neymar and Suarez absolutely had to look for Messi in any given situation.

I don't want to spoil the party, guys, but the season is over.
La liga is over, CDR is over, we are out of a CL.

There is no pressure, and we played a Camp Nou match.
Whenever we play at Camp Nou, matches can easily end with 5:1 and similar.

Also, when you add that thing about no pressure, matches like these often end with 4:3, 6:1 and similar.
Teams play relaxed and with "funny" defenses.

In matches like these, in past seasons: Bartra looked like the best Cb in the world, winning every duel in similar Camp Nou matches.
Roberto looked like the best Cdm or Cm in the world with his movement and passes.
And even Vidal looked awesome in a few Camp Nou matches last season before the injury.

So, yes, Dembele had an awesome game, but he will need to repeat these displays in a round 2, 4, 8 and similar, when the pressure will be "on".
This post in not only about Dembele.
I wouldn't analyze anyone's display too deep in the last 2-3 rounds of a season when the La liga is over.

I mean, we won even in a CDR final 10 days ago with an ultradefensive team.
The team is just relaxed currently, there is no pressure and we regained an energy which we lost in January and February when we played La Liga and CDR matches.
In March and April, we are always tired and scared.
And when the season is over, we are flying all over the field again...

Villarreal is fighting for a European spot and we are not always "scared" in the CL. You are making too much out of that Roma loss. In March and April, the "tired and scared" months, we won against Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Valencia, Bilbao and other wins as well.

Well even if that is true, can you not just take joy in us playing some great football (first half), in seeing a young player who has struggled with injuries and confidence score a brilliant solo goal? Next year we'll see what happens. Personally I'm still not convinced by Valverde or the board's long term planning, but that's for the future. I'm just trying to enjoy now.

This guy is a future top 3 in the world player.

His composure, dribbling, acceleration and vision are freak levels for such a young player.

Impossible to lose him. If a big decision need to be made when Griezmann comes in, it's Suarez that needs to be put on the spot.

Wow. With the team actively seeking an unbeaten season (which I don’t get) and Villarreal playing for a European spot you come up with “it’s a no pressure game” to put ice on Dembélé’s performance.

Was the Clasico also zero pressure?

Nevermind about watching Dembele, I hope this tactical coach can teach Messi about his own movement, to stop walking around in some big games and start moving about more to receive the ball like in his early years

Never happened and never will happen. Messi plays in the time and space he creates for himself by deliberately distancing himself. This has ALWAYS been the case. I have previously put up the 2008/09 Champions League final for some to watch. That was 10 years ago...
