Love him more as LW than in RW, last season in the right he look so lost and couldn't beat hes man properly, but in the left his movements looked more composed and can connect better with Messi and with the midfield, he just got to build chemistry with Alba and he is going to be fire this season.

He tracked backed well and his shielding of the ball also improved a lot.

This was one of those performances that sends a real message to Catalan media, The coach and whoever in the board is wanting to sell him saying "I'm not going anywhere". It was hilarious seeing people call out MD,Sport and Gerard Romero on twitter after he scored.

I mean if you had to choose between Dembele and Suarez right now going by their performances, it will be obvious who the majority will choose. But yet you don't hear a god damn thing about Suarez in the Catalan media about his performances despite him being wretched.

Dembele was the best player on the pitch today.. linked very well with his teammates. scored a beautiful game.. he was very involved and more aware of his teammates.. even with his one passes and one twos with Messi.. He also played incredibly in tight spaces..
Suarez is terrible.. so useless.. keeps missing simple passes.. bench him.. nonsense..

IMO DEMBELE gets a 9 compared to other players.. if we're gonna criticize the specifics with Dembele then we should do the same with other players...
Valverde cannot forget about Malcom either
Arthur was alright.. he just needs to be more assertive but he performed way better than Gomes ever did in his life..
Great to see coutinho in midfield too...

Gonna go a bit Andy Grey on you to start with, "what a goal, what a strike".

Now a bit Jamie Jamie Rednapp, "Dembele played with the bit between his teeth today, like he had something to prove"

Really good game from Dembele, especially considering it was his first pre-season game. If this is a sign of his attitude for the rest of the season then he will have a great season.

I thought he played really well. Maybe Dembele-Messi-Malcolm or Dembele-Messi-Coutinho may be a better idea than having Suarez starting. But knowing Valverde, once the season begins, it would be Malcolm starting over him, Suarez plays all 90 and Dembele either a 90th min sub or unused sub.

I'm not trying to be a Dembele hater. I think he's a good and talented player but people on here and r/barca seem desperate to claim that he's a generational talent just because we spent a lot of money on him and missed out on Mbappe to sign him.

Or maybe some people have seen him play at Dortmund or even before that and know that he is a exceptional talent?
Most people who have talked down on him for almost a year now, clearly haven‘t though.

Looking for those “haters”

"BBZ, where art thou?"

The best thing for me yesterday was not the golazo, but how he showed improvement on certain weak parts of his game. His anticipation for the ball and awareness of his surroundings in tight spaces improved a lot, he now quickly turns and moves to protect the ball where as last season he would sort of stand still and risked a challenge from behind. Shows that he's adapting to our slow grandpa style of football, i'd prefer if Barcelona adapted to Dembele's (and Coutinho's) style instead. We'd be so much better if we were an intense fast paced team. Very happy for him, will want more of this throughout the season!

Yeah, even without the goal it was a very good performance. He looked after the ball well, dribbled at the right times, and is so good at finding Messi with those fired passes around the area. Really happy for him. Long may it continue.
