That's one of the drawbacks I guess with having Alba. He always wants that open space in front of him while the LW/LCM is tucked inside to accommodate Alba's runs.

Yeah and that's why Alba has been happy like a butterfly since Neymar left, because he had received his "open space". Earlier he had to serve Neymar, by now Messi needs to serve him.
At the same time it seems it was almost a sole dangerous weapon of the attack for month by now... without having a right side... the exact opposite of the Alves area...

dembele was very active yesterday (highlight him saving the ball from going over the side line and starting a counter attack with that), but somebody has to teach him some basic passing for fuck's sake! doesn't matter if he creates chances when he wastes them right away with doing atrociously naive passes that never ever reach the intended target

losing him in the winter would be very bad

I really hope he can improve his short passing, because otherwise he's already brilliant asset. There were several times, where he makes space with his own effort alone to get into position for good pass towards Messi in his favorite final third position, on the center left, close to the box, but Dempz just fails his accuracy check by some margin. He seems to have the same natural soft curve to his crosses as Beckham did, where it's very hard for defenders to intercept the ball, because it's always bending away from them and is beneficial to attackers even if not pin point precise. The same with some of hos laser sharp passes into space for Semedo and Alba on that one occasion on the right. It's like snooker precise with perfect weight for the running into space partner to receive, even while under pressure. It's his meat&potatoes passes for ball circulation that paradoxically seem to fail most often. Just genius things i guess.

Dembele + Semedo are actually brilliant together.

These two have excellent chemistry and it could really develop into something really special for our right flank. Criminal that this combo wont be developed by EV as Roberto will be forced into the flank once he returns.

That right flank is just beautifully balanced with Dembele and Semedo. It needs to stay.

Been saying this since last year, no idea why we don't see that combo more often

The team is clearly worse without Suarez, despite improved play from Dembele. Dembele is better with Suarez on the field, Messi and Coutinho are also better with Suarez in the middle.

Messi and Dembele need to work better together, improvement is needed from both of them in this respect. I think all four of these forwards should get on the field almost every game. Both Dembele and Coutinho are excellent coming in as subs, after Suarez gets back I hope to see one of these super-subs at about the 60 minute mark every game.
