His dispossession rate is a concern in la liga, A burden at any other time in UCL, But a disaster waiting to happen in our current defense and in UCL.

There are no simple solutions for this, EV can either remove him from the starting line-up (the safest option), But we lose the unexpected flare he brings, Which is important in these type of competitions.

Or he can be instructed to play things more safely, But in that case, We’re limiting him, As his most impressive feats, Comes from his unexpected passes and moves, Which is also responsible for his atrocious tendency to give away the ball.

9 league goals, 8 assists and 6 yellow cards wasn't good considering the team we had and the hype of having the player every big club in the world wanted.

I agree he wasnt bad or anything but he did underperform in that first season.

He also sustained an injury that season

If this continue and 442 with extra midfielder looks like the way to go, his career here might be actually affected. Still too early but he should be worried and get his level up

Dembele looks like he is only suited to counter attack football atm. It always confused me when people said he would be so much better in Pep's Barca even though he is nowhere close to having the ability to play such a style of football.

No coincidence that we play much more Barca like with him out of the team.

For me, I would bring Dembele and Malcom on from the bench the way Zidane did with Asensio and Vazquez. Whenever the opponents are tired, Dembele and Malcom can provide the pace and dribbling ability to try to finish games off.

Yes, the problem is that we paid 140mio for him, he can't be a bench player who can be used from time to time

I believe in Dembele and I think he is a very talented player, but he has got to step up. He seems very comfortable one game and very clunky the other.

Well tbf i think every single player in our squad would look better in Peps Barca lol. Could totally see Pep using him in a great way, with Valverde it looks more like in offense its just about individual quality without defined roles and Dembele just isn't on consistent world class level there yet.

I mean just look at Sané and Sterling, if they were with us currently they would be benched instantly to play 4-4-2. Pep and Valverde are just very different i don't think its crazy to think a young attacker would do way better with Pep.

Dembele would probably been put in the market by this time if he was coached by Pep, he is like the anti-pep when it comes to playing style as it stands.
Big adaptation is ahead of him.

Pep could/can work with Coman, Costa, Sterling and Sané and they aren't la masia level when it comes to passing and also aren't defensiv workhorses but are fast wingers that tend to lose the ball from time to time so i don't see a reason why Dembele, arguably a bigger talent overall than all of these players, should be absolutely anti-pep and sold immediately.

Pep can play his game with players that aren't 100% "old barca style" by default, but i guess with Valverde its easy to forget a coach can influence his players.

I would bet half of our squad would look way better and more "barca style" if coached by Pep. He's just a way better coach when it comes establishing his own idea of football with his team and he has shown that it doesn't exclusively work with la masia players.
