11 - Raphinha

He currently has 10 G + A in 814 total mins spet on the pitch. That's 1 goal or assist per 81 mins played.

If he sorts out his finishing, with his engine and off the ball movement, he can hit 25 goals + assists per season easily.

It sounds impressive but somehow he frustrates the hell out of you.

Bet you if he played for Girona, Las Palmas or almost any other team, he'd look very good.
Xavi is the problem. He manages to get Barcelona get dominated by mid-table teams.

Other teams provide support for their wide forwards. Ours are told to attract three defenders and insha blind.

Lamine is much better in the build up and better dribbler but too young to be relied on for when Raphinha is punted.

Raphinha strikes a better ball and better set pieces but not amazing on those either to point would keep him in team.

Be interesting to see Lamine when has a striker that will run in behind as had that clever little ball in behind CBs on tap in lower categories.

Raphinha had one good game this season at home to Atlei really. Every other game more or less bar maybe Mallorca away he has been fairly fucking terrible even if decent stats.

Still think he was gone in summer had Dembele stayed.

Lamine is good for his age, and talented, but he needs goals and assists to have a case.

Raphinha is better at set pieces and is on them and strikes a better ball as said but dribbling and general build up would have Lamine now.

He did more yesterday than Raphinha all game.

The truth is Lamine is too young to start regularly and the two are not competing for that role anyway. Raphinha is competing with himself to stay beyond the summer and as it stands.. assuming there are offers club will try to sell him would think.

Lamine is 16 and has 5 goals/assists. For him to reach double figures at that age is very good.

The issue with Raphinha is that he doesnt look like he fits tactically despite some decent enough stats in amongst some poor games.

That's true, if the club could get 60m for raphinha and spend it on a better winger, that would be ideal.

Dont think it would be hard to find a player more suited but the issue would be how much of the fee they would get to spend on that replacement.

If selling him for 60m then only allows 30/40m that is more difficult but either way I doubt he sees a third season unless improves dramatically.

Raphi is a strange player, has a good shot (outside the box) and not a slow guy but lacks extremely football IQ

He has power, and stamina. Physical specimen almost, works hard in defense too. Plenty of qualities, but his overall technique is unfortunately not top level. This is where the frustration with him comes from, because at Barcelona with the players this club had playing in the wing, these are some huge shoes to fill.

He doesmt have power and not a great dribbler.

Runs a lot, can strike a ball struggle with consistency of first touch and dribbling.

Shite touches probably wasted 5/6 1 v1 touches this season.

Team teams need players that are a threat 1v1 and he isnt.

Cant see club being happy with what he is showing.

At Leeds he got central a lot and was allowed that freedom where his workrate to get in good positions was there and had ability to finish from near and far... Barca pin him to side lines an he looks lost there.

Another players signed and plays in way doesnt suit him really. One of many.,

Not power, but robustness.

Personally I wouldn’t touch our current RW (Raphina+Lamine). Much bigger issues in our squad right now.

He's an asset we can sell for some, if not a lot, and we can definitely find someone more suited for us for fairly cheap. He lacks pace which is a big issue, especially for a team that creates very little organically by possession play. We need the through ball and inshallah type players (dumbele/adama) to create any danger. FIFA 21 tactics for a fifa level manager.

Also his decision making is atrocious. He almsot ALWAYS makes the wrong decision. Not sure who is worse him or balde in that respect.
