11 - Raphinha

Other than 2-3 games at the start of the season, he hasn't done anything of note. Both starting wingers, Dembele and Raphinha, have gone AWOL in all the games this month. Dembele might create something here and there, but overall Barca's wingers have sucked this season.
Xavi has to figure out how to get things clicking with the front line.

The only things I've liked about Raphinha so far are that he is hardworking and he is willing to take shots on goal from outside the box just to convey the idea of a threat.

Next year we need to get Theo Hernandez and Reece James type pf players, we need speed, look at Mendy at RM, he is strong fast and skillful.

| A lot of doubts are starting to arise within the club on if Raphinha should've been signed or not.

No shit!
Apart from a nice cross/pass here and there (with high % of failed crosses/passes), he has been as meh as it gets
Can't beat his marker on 1v1, can't run with ball
when he receives, he is stationary and looks for a pass, while many times he simply back-passes
Not good enough...

Given that Xavi should move from having both Dembele and Raphina on the pitch together (because we are terribly predictable),
I think his fella should see a lot of the bench going forward, since Dembele is hands down the unquestionably better player of the two to start at RW

Warned you guys when he signed for you that he isn't Barca level and just a decent player. Brazilian tax is real.

The Big clubs that were after him drawing a sigh of relief. Dodged an L.

He's a brainless cut-in-and-shoot bot and he ain't no Robben.

Typical PL tax. Should've known since Hazard

Obviously Xavi is shit at picking players, he spent 120mil on 2 wingers who can't dribble or score, and his tactics are no where to be seen. #

We need player like Leao on LW, someone who can dribble 1 vs 1, even Sterling would be much better then this two. It is time to took L with Rapinha, maybe he is good but Xavi can't get best out of him.

Raphinha has been mediocre so far, but signing a guy for 55-60m to play him in a role he wasn't suited to is hardly the best use of that money.

Xavi's obsession with having his wingers wide as fuck and use them for width just completely isolate them right now. Out of the current crop of players I think only Vinicius and Mbappe would actually perform at an elite level in such a role as they can consistently use their pace + dribbling to be direct, something Raphinha and Dembele just cannot do, at least not on a consistent basis or versus actual good teams.

serghei here we go.

0:13 is why it is not penalty. Raphina could have run along with the ball passing the opponent. Instead, after he touches the ball rather than planting his foot naturally puts his foot much deeper(you can see the hesitation) to look for the penalty. Defender is already there and is trying to go through him.
Same shit Vinicius tries to pull off a lot of times.

bit late to this discussion but this makes no sense. his lateral step is what allows him to change direction and get his body past the celta player. if he hadn't planted there for leverage, his momentum would have taken him straight into collision with the player. not saying whether it's a pen or not but your physics def seem off there.

i'd understand if it was demebele who hasnt done fuckall in 6 years but we need to give Rafinha time, dude's not even here a full season yet, also he hasnt gotten a consistent run of games with a set team. Xavi has been subbing him out most matches so hard for him to build any rhythm as the team constantly changes. he hasnt been great but i dont see it as entirely his fault currently.

lol...what momentum? He isn't even running with the ball(0:11). Have to assume your feet never touched a football.
