11 - Raphinha

I would of been happy with the signing of Torres if it was 30-35mil tops. 55mil for a City bench player was lol worthy.

He's a young, talented player that may improve..but he'll never be a prolific scorer, or even Pedro level numbers. What I do know for sure, is that he will never improve under Xavi's tactics of isolating wingers out wide against the sideline.

True. Up to 40m would have been a good price for him. City had the upper hand when dealing with us though.

Now we have to hope he turns good. Kind of similar position with Ansu.

Doesn't look all that, I hope we don't offer more than 30m for him

Not going to look like much against a City side like today's. No outlets, no space, not even scraps.

Bit like how Liverpool suffocated Villarreal and made decent players like Chukwedze and Danjuma look third division.

3 times the player dembele is

The grass always looks good on the other side, I've checked his stats and watched him 5 times now and he's not better than Dembele in any attacking aspect apart from finishing. He occasionally makes bad crosses too and even has a worse passing success ratio. For an even comparison, you can check when they both played in Rennes and Dembele had more goals, assists, dribbles and better pass accuracy so what makes you feel he's 3 times better, or are putting their wage and fees into consideration

Lmao he plays for Leeds, a team that's in the relegation zone.

And LOL at the Rennes example,

"the Dembele from 7 years ago beats this Raphinha"

So, that Dembele no longer exists. How about we compare the two goals a season Dembele against a guy that's able to outscore him by 5x whilst he's in a relegation candidate team. 😭😭😭

The result is still the same, Dembele beats him in everything bar finishing which i mentioned earlier. We complain about Dembele's bad passes, and he's better than Raphinha in that aspect this season (84% to 68%), same goes for dribbles and creating chances, infact Dembele has being better than him in those aspects in the last 6 seasons including their time at Rennes so you can see where I'm coming from

Come on Everton, just hold on! If all goes well, Leeds will be 18th after round 36 at least, then hopefully they don't make it back in the last two rounds.

You're basing this after the game against City, I'm guessing? City was two classes better, and yet Raphinha was the only Leeds player, who had a decent game...created a lot of chances, which his teammates just wasted them all. He did have one chance himself, but missed it, so I'll give you that. His performance yesterday was good, considering Leeds didn't have a chance collectively, just whole other world of quality between the teams.
So much more mature in his overall play than Dembele, and I'd bet he'd actually score double digits for us easily, not just double (two) goals. ;)

Dembele has been playing for Barca and hes been playing for Leeds. Passing percentage also depends on the IQ and positioning of your teammates. It doesnt matter if Barca has been dominating or struggling, Dembele getting into the box with the ball or even getting a shot on net period has been nonexistent. He's just a very poor goal scoring threat. I would of never thought so given how he was very creative and was scoring goals at Dortmund when he was really young. I expected his finishing to improve, not get worse. He's not suddenly going to develop an eye for goal in his mid 20s.

Except him for what he is, or move on. If we had a few really strong goal scoring wingers, I'd say his profile would be valuable. However, your highest paid attacker scoring 2 goals 3/4 through the season doesnt make much sense now does it.

Then again, Raphinha would cost a similar salary but a 30+mil transfer fee. Keeping Dembele to save money for a striker might be the better move. Signing Raphina if we keep him doesnt make sense.
