After Leeds stayed up, there was always gonna be massive interest from the PL higher clubs. And we were never in a position to compete with them. We were willing to pay 40M, maybe 50 at the most, Arsenal 55-60M, and then Chelsea came in today with 70, and Raphinha was always going to prefer them to Arsenal anyway, not just the CL factor, but Arsenal having their golden boy Saka in the same position, meanwhile the only player Chelsea have there is Ziyech, who is also on the verge of leaving.

He's useless there though. At least at LW he could be somewhat serviceable, if he improves his finishing (which I think he will), and quickly shoot while running on the inside using his great positioning, while he can't beat a defender one on one to save his life, doesn't have the dribbling nor the pace, and wouldn't be able to shoot as often from there, which would make him pretty much useless. Just imagine our right side with Roberto and Ferran. It would be dead as a doorknob.

Lol why would you if you can make money on Ziyech, Werner or Pulisic and go for a player at least semi proven in Prem

Doesn't look like it. The Sterling deal seems just as advanced as the Raphinha one as of now.
