11 - Raphinha

He was more of a system performer compared though? While Antony looks to have more individual brilliance which usually transcends better to other teams.

Well, I'm not a good authority, I only saw 3-5 CL games of each and didn't watch Eredivisie so I could be wrong. But thats the impression I got of both players and both Ajax's.

Don't expect him to be a world beater in EPL but probably won't totally flop either as he will play in a system that he knows.

Also, hard to really be considered a flop if price is "only" around 40m (basically every average player cost as much these days) for rich EPL teams. Now if we'd be talking about a 70-80m fee that would be another story.

With these prices, it seems we'll have to take a cheap(ish) punt on a lesser-known player and hope it pans out. Time to put that scouting department to work and give us some names who don't make first page headlines in sports papers already.

Make no mistake, good, high potential, lesser-known players are also going to run you some 25-30m.

Yeah. To be honest I doubt the board have the confidence to even risk dropping 25-30m on an unknown player with potential. They will go for the Morata's, Azpi's, Marcos Alonsos, Di Maria, etc.

We are being priced out of the market, and will lose alot of opportunities because we can't move until all economic levers are confirmed. Not unless we can sign agreements and confirm later in the market, or even Loan+Buy as other clubs have done to push around salary cap issues.

But the stagnation suggests it will take time even if Laporta has everything agreed (which he doesn't), as it needs to be reviewed and accepted by LaLiga. And make no mistake, the numbers will be at the absolute lowest end financially and the highest % of equity loss. Bank on it. So I doubt there will be much in the way of the transfer budget.

Even cheap opportunities are slipping out of our hands. I'm reading Andrey Santos (18 yr old DMC from Vasco I mentioned quite a bit) will likely move to PSG who have gone to poll position and offering just 8 million (at face value).

Angel Di Maria could be paired up with Ousmane Demb?l? next season; FC Barcelona will rule out the signing of Raphinha xavi__hdez[]

After watching a few games of Antony. His impact in the overall games can be quite minimal, he?s like a moments player. I guess that?s normal for any stylish young players not named neymar

Well, when do we realistically need to wait for a deal? Until the next salary cap year?

I don't see why we couldn't have a deal in principle to be completed mid-end August if we are serious, but it is becoming clearer that Lewandowski is the priority and everything is peripheral to that.

But what is interesting is that Chelsea would rather complete Raphinha than pay a sizeable signing fee + wage for Dembele.

His options are shrinking by the day.

Has the unprofessional approach of Sissoko killed his negotiations or has he finally agreed to renew with us and then get injured for a year?

Tune in in 3 days to find out.
