Xavi was the first one who played him on the left and he thrived. Remember his masterclass against PSG last season? He performed very well towards the end of the season. But this system of Hansi suits him even more, he always times his runs well underrated aspect of his game. Flick took him to another level though definitely.

Flick also uses Raphinha to play on break or make runs behind defenders and then someone have good cutting pass.

Yes, Xavi got better at utilizing him in the 2nd season no doubt, especially near the end after Dembele left, but I have to admit that Flick is using him better.

He was always statistically good, but not systematically.

Not until the second half of last season when Xavi started to realise how to get the best out of him.

I personally wanted Nico as the 3rd winger. With Yamal and Raphinha. Raphinha was never moving anywhere as one of the team's best players. I wanted Nico like we had Joao Felix last season, as an upgrade. Because I knew Ansu would be useless.
