When you play as a Cental Midfielder, I like to say CM/AM hybrid like Pedri, you will naturally cover a lot of area and one minute you'll be at the edge of your own penalty box, then the next the opposition's box defending.

He's not Playing and sitting DEEP, taking the ball off the defense like de Jong/pirlo/busquets, he's going to connect and play further forward because you can't waste that kind of talent just stringing things together from deep, and he's going to run/come back and defend.
