Yeah, I only saw min 5-25 of the game, but in those 20 minutes, Mascherano looked very good. His first YC was quite harsh imho; I missed his second foul (on Drenthe) which resulted in the goal.

Nope, he didn't get a knock, he was subbed for tactical reasons. Pep used 2 subs in the beginning of the second half (Pedro for Bojan, and Xavi for Mascherano -> which relegated Keita to DM). He could have subbed off Keita too (instead of Masche), but I suppose Pep thought that would have been too defensive (considering we're already 0-1 down)

Well at least he took 1 for the team. IMO without going for the foul, Hercules would have resulted in 2 more goals. Thats how bad our team was on that day

That foul was kind of weird, there wasn't too much contact but Drenthe was pretty much past him... He could have gotten the second yellow card in that play if the ref wanted to be a bitch, luckily the ref was pretty level headed... I'll wait a couple games to make a full appreciation of what he can do, but for now let's play Busi!

I'm more concerned about Mascherano in the UEFA Champions League, El Clasico (Real Madrid C.F.), El Derbi Barceloni (R.C.D. Espanyol), and Cup Final. Everyone is Barcelona is going to be 110% for these types of games. I'll promise you Mascherano is hoping for a UEFA Champions League win
