14 - Javier Mascherano

Mascherano was horrible when he played pivote for us. He just wasn't suited to a role that's so dependent on positional skill, anticipation and a calm head.

Oddly enough he seems to play well for Argentina in that role and has been an excellent ball distributor from deep as well as his usual defensive self. He was and is a better DM than Song.

Actually Barca were going to get a clean sheet by not playing Masch, unfortunately they also decided not to play Alexis, the positive no-Masch and Positive no-Alexis created an explosion.

I'd say that's because Mascherano has been at fault for many of our conceded goals on a consistent basis. I do acknowledge that Puyol didn't have a good game last night but this isn't the kind of performance we see from him a lot. Mascherano on the other hand has gotten on peoples nerves one time too many which is a cause of much of the hatred or anger vented towards him. It's like if Messi has a game in which he misses 4-5 easy chances, we wouldn't go calling him worse than Alexis.

yeah tell us now that Mascherano is good as CB and yes i would say that because Puyol does mistakes like this once in time not like Mascherano.....

I do not think he would have commited Puyols mistake for the second goal, he would have known Di Marias tricks inside out but would probably have done some other mistake

well at least there is a truth in what he`s saying. We are getting more n more obsessed by these La masia thing.lot of them will end up like dos santos n bojan.
i will even say we should bench XAVI. he aint bossing the midfield anymore(maybe because of Cesc not providing enough support or whatever) and no more through balls too even when the opponents are keeping the high line.its really frustrating sometimes when we are behind.

When 60minutes does an entire segment about La Masia don't expect any less from Rosell and company who care about saving. Right now you can't say much about La Masia grads coz they're "the chosen ones".
