A player with his experience should know better. Reckless challenge when the Ajax player wasn't even in a dangerous position. Giving away a penalty when it's already 3 or 4-0 with only a few minutes left...Major brainfart.

I agree... Even though he slipped, his challenge was reckless and unnecessary...

I've just been watching an interview with England /QPR keeper Robert Green who named Xavier Mascherano has the player he'd played with over the years with the BEST range if passing wether it be short or long !!

He said that Mascherano practiced long passes endlessly in training and that he was absolutely amazing !!!

It's weird how he let's Pique handle most of the longballs, Pique is great at them as well but if Mascherano is that good...

I remember Tito specifically saying that he used Mascherano instead of Puyol in that brilliant Milan game because of his long balls (that sounds so wrong).

Javier Mascherano, a permanent fixture in Gerardo Martino’s starting line-ups, was subbed off for Marc Bartra on the 34th minute of the first half in the match against Real Sociedad. Barça’s No14 picked up a knock at the start of the match which eventually forced the player off the pitch. Initial tests indicate that Mascherano has a hamstring injury in his right leg. The player will undergo additional tests on Wednesday to determine the extent of his injury.

Mascherano joins Puyol, who is recovering from knee surgery, and Jordi Alba, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, on the injury list. The left back was injured in the match against Sevilla and his estimated recovery time is approximately three weeks.

From that shock with Busi :(

Getting a hamstring injury doesn't mean that he pulled them, I guess it's a bruise of a a hard knock that will keep him out for a couple of weeks max. I'm just assuming here.
