We're driving out Puyol, Valdes, Alves, Mascherano, maybe Alexis, etc.... The atmosphere within the team must be absolutely putrid right now, worse than even we imagined.

Eh? Puyol is retiring due to injury and Valdes is going away to earn big bucks elsewhere.

Masch and Alves will leave if they are no longer required.

Hardly 'driving players away'!!

Well they don't really feel any attachment anymore do they? Puyol I understand. Valdes I can't say. Alves literally came out and criticized the atmosphere or "energy" of the team, and he's well known as the guy who'll confront an issue without hiding it. Mascherano is now keeping the door open as well. We're not driving them out but have they just suddenly lost their will to stay and want to jump ship?

Valdes decided to leave a year and a half ago and Puyol is retiring due to injury.

The club keep Masch and Alves and they are accused of being blind and keeping dead wood or they get rid of them and are accused of 'driving players away'.

Where have any of them said they want to jump ship??

That's why I think Lucho is the right man for the job... De Boer put it well when he said that Barça don't need a coach, they need a manager... remains to be seen how that pans out

How would Lucho stop Puyol from retiring due to injury or Valdes leaving for reasons given nothing to do with the current atmosphere a year and a half ago?

Masch and Alves will leave if the club no longer need them no because the club are forcing them out.
