How would Lucho stop Puyol from retiring due to injury or Valdes leaving for reasons given nothing to do with the current atmosphere a year and a half ago?

Masch and Alves will leave if the club no longer need them no because the club are forcing them out.

It's not because of players leaving, the atmosphere is generally bad, Tata admitted as much himself and you could also derive it from players' interviews and their lack of commitment and motivation on the pitch in the past few months

Masch and Alves want to leave though.. Even if win next week, their still gone. That, right there, tells you the atmosphere is shit and it's affecting the whole squad.

Neither Masch or Alves has come out and said they want to leave.

Alves pretty much said that he needs to be convinced to stay at this point, due to the toxic "energy". Masch is getting cold feet too. Tata himself has said morales are down.

Nowhere has it been said that Alves or Masch are only considering leavin because they don't feel useful anymore. The environment is very poor at the club and that's obvious. No one needs to go to the media and declare it for it to be true (Alves pretty much did).

Dude, you're wasting your time. A guy can kill dozen of people and have solid evidence against him, but Jamdav won't believe it unless the guy himself admit to murder.

The "toxic energy" can mean absolutely anything. Anyway even if they dont want leave, they will be sold. If FIFA ban is upheld Barca won't be able to upgrade team until 2016!!! That means they need to build new team now, so that a lot of older or not needed players must be sold and replaced this summer!

The quotes from Alves about the energy judging from his previous comments are about fans/press more than anything. He is right as well there is a very negative feeling towards players that give everything for the club.

Just read the likes of this forum and see how the likes of Alves/Masch/Cesc are mocked and ridiculed. Now I know they wont be reading this forum but it is indicative of the way a lot of Barcelona fans feel towards their players and the team and the players do pick up on that.

Alves and Masch know full well that the time is coming when it is clear that they could be leaving in no way are they being 'driven out'.

Dude, you're wasting your time. A guy can kill dozen of people and have solid evidence against him, but Jamdav won't believe it unless the guy himself admit to murder.

Sound advice.

It's funny that people talk more about selling than buying these days. If we sell all these players, surely we're gonna buy many players too right? Buying comes first, selling comes second. I don't wanna see 6-7-8 departures and 3-4 arrivals.

This. Some players are declining and/or need to be sold, but buying their replacements comes first.

Well, some of these players are not starters, and can be replaced by Masia players quite easily (Pinto, Ze Roberto, Cuenca, Tello). The young players who were not able to make it should be "purged" to make place for youngsters, otherwise those youngsters won't get their chance. Ideal situation would be just 4 purchases besides Ter Stegen - 1 CB , 1 CM, 1 FW and one mixed CB/Full Back, but those should be great players, not project or merely good ones. Another fullback will be necessary if Adriano and Alves both leave.

Certain Players need to go as they are more a Hindrance than help like Mascherano will need game time but thats taking game time from others same with Alves

I love Masch but it is a good sign that he is hinting that he might leave as the board must surely now realise that we need a new defense. I would prefer we keep him and sell Song and let Masch alternate between midfield and defense as a back up but he still is good enough to start at a top club so will not be happy to just be a squad player at his age. That is why he will most likely leave, with Puyol and Masch gone we should be bringing in 2 new defenders, if Luiz in one that would be fine as long as the other is Laporte or a CB with a similar profile.

Rather than having him leave, we should find a way playing him in midfield again, together with busi probably? You can't run for the liga, the cl and the copa with only 15 players in your squad, half of them injured, others not ready etc. Masch is a great player and should not be counted for his cb role, rather his dm role! Imagine he left, Barca, for years not being able to manage buying a cb would also have to buy a replacement for Masch. (I did not yet mention Alves)
