Idk wtf is he doing. He wants a pay raise? If yes stop acting like an idiot, if not just say officially that you want to leave. We can't let him leave for less than 30M or buyout clause.

His next contract may be his last so if he wants to use that to get as much as possible then he can do, but he's only got a year or 2 left as a regular starter so the club can't just bow to his demands. Either sell now for a good fee or let him go when his contract is up. He's not going to get more than at Barca in a year or 2 when hes 33/34 unless he goes to China.

He's made noises about going back to Argentina and he wouldn't get much money there. I'd rather keep him next season as a starter, the year after as a squad player and then let him go in 2018 after the World Cup and use 17/18 to probably bed in a long-term replacement (which would have been ideal with Alves)..

We knew that he was going to go eventually, because of his quotes about playing in Argentina before he is too downhill. That way we knew he would not extend.

Therefore we should have done a couple of Lemos-deals the past 1 or 2 windows, so now, when we have to plan our CB-situation we already knew if he had proper replacements for the future. Now it is all being forced on us way too quickly, and even before the rumours about him leaving this or next year, I advocated for buying 2 CB's to make our situation more secure for the future in that position.

I think it is clear that we won't let him go this summer, and that he knows he can't just say that he wants to go 4 months later and then get through with it. I really thought we would have him until his contract expired, therefore had the time to bring in a successor, but now it is a little bit forced for my liking. Remember that a new CB won't necessarily fit just because he looks promising on paper. That is why we should buy 2 CB's even if he stays until the end of his contract, although it does not seem like it.

I bet I'm okay with signing someone we know we will get like Umtiti and a developing CB out on loan like Lemos or Meré or Davinson (I'm not sure why Lemos is our main target among them). But next summer, where Mascherano probably will go, then we need to bring in 1 more like Umtiti, and that could be one that requires more work, like Christensen from Chelsea (would be worth it - he is future WC CB + good cover at DM like Masch).

I could be totally off-base but I can't help thinking this is Sport's BS, I certainly hope it is. Just a couple of days ago Masch told reporters in the US that he would not leave us on bad terms, something to that effect and I think he clearly knows we need him for at least another season. Him abruptly leaving regardless does not sound very plausible. That said, either way we know he is not very happy and he does want to leave, it is just a matter of when. So even if he does stay, we need to start looking for his replacement.

The news is he got mad because Barça offered a raise, and apparently back down afterwards. And it's abrupt to us, he's been talking with the club for months. This board doesn't have a good track record when dealing with players. Forgot how many they pissed off throughout the years? Masch wouldn't be the 1st.

He's not leaving. Sport love their weekly drama.

Sport was right about Alves. And Masch pretty much admitted he was considering a move in his last interview.

Hmm, so the club retracted their contraction extension and raise offer in the last several days? I seriously doubt its authenticity, and if indeed true I wonder if the club has some other plans (and signings)?

Worst case scenario the way I see it, we will have to force Masch to see out his contract like BVB did with Lewandowski and we let him go for free next year. We clearly can't afford to let him go without signing at least two CBs and possibly one DM. Even though Masch will not be happy and the situation will not be ideal, but I think Masch will be professional enough to give his best in his last season with us.

Hopefully. But he could force a move, if he's really unhappy. His exit from liverpool was similar(if claims are true). He said pool didn't fulfiil their promises too.

If he wants a raise he should get as he deservea it. Even after offering a raise he still wants to leave, the club should let him go. Nobody is bigger than the club and there is no point keeping an unhappy player..

Well Masche did say he won't force a move out not to long ago.

All Barca needs to do is tell Juve to pay the 60 mil(Buyout) and he's his. no way anyone would pay that much for a 32 year old player.
