That would be a mistake imo. Now I don't say he's been good this season but his best years are ahead of him as defensive players peak later. And let's not forget he can play a DM better than almost anyone in the world.
If we are to get a defender, I'd rather we sold Song than Masch.

Mascherano is not going anywhere, he was always brought in as a backup to Busi, then developed to a backup for Puyol and Pique. Because of injuries he started almost every game. He is happy with his role what ever it is, so he will not be sold next summer even if we bring a new CB in.

Am I the only one that thought he had a pretty good game? His tackling is superb. If he had better positional awareness, he would be a top, top CB.

Yeah he did okay. He had a couple blunders but that looked like rust/timing. He covered everything else perfectly. To have a player like that off the bench to provide rest for Puyol is great.

he was at his best today. very very solid perormance. he looks so so much better alongside with pique.
