17 - Marc Casadó

Holy shit, he is REALLY good. He was our best player in that very shaky first half. He has proven in the highest moments he is able to handle the pressure. I feel strange saying this, but it seems to me Gavi and FDJ are only really strong subs....

I love Casado, from the first time I saw him play. But I think it's situational. Gavi is more of an advanced player who can cause the opposition a lot of problems with his pressing and force turnovers in the final 3rd. With FdJ, it remains to be seen if he has improved under Flick. He did release one pass early today (the correct decision) so perhaps he'll be playing more fluid football instead of being a big lunkhead dwelling on the ball and killing attacks. Regardless, he'll be useful as a Keita-type gamekiller sub or to add some height and muscle against teams where it's needed.

He handled Bayern and Real very well and passed a big test.

Very impressive on the ball especially that through-ball for Lewa to score the first one. Seems like every game he's getting more and more comfortable and allowing him to get even more risky with the ball when needed.

The choice between cassado and Bernal is interesting. Cassado offers that effort, crisp passing and swift 360° nouvement, whereas Bernal offers that orthodox DM physicality and centimeters one often needs In defense (both in play and stopped balls). Good problem to have . Hopefully Bernal gets motivated by Cassados success this year.

He's very impressive this young fella. Not saying anything new but his positioning and passing are brilliant as is his first touch and composure. He plays like an old head on young shoulders, like Cubarsi and Lamine.

Six quality midfield/attacking midfield options at Barcelona right now.

To be fair things change quickly in Football and Bernal will be coming back from a year layoff and he'll be only 18 by the time he recovers. Nothing wrong with taking it slow once he gets back especially for his age.

Casado on the other hand is at a perfect age where he'll keep on holding down the fort giving Bernal a chance at coming back with very little pressure on him.

This guy is what we thought Gavi would become.

Great defensively, great on the ball under pressure, works his ass off and can play killer passes.

No disrespect to Gavi of course.

On the ball he is >>>> Gavi

But off the ball Gavi is still better, despite Casado's relentless engine
Both have the engine, but Gavi has aggression no other Barca md can match.
He steals proactively the ball like a prime Klopp md
