This guy is what we thought Gavi would become.

Great defensively, great on the ball under pressure, works his ass off and can play killer passes.

No disrespect to Gavi of course.

I think Casado/Gavi/De Jong/Bernal (when back) gives us a solid midifeld base for the next 5-10 years. Casado definitely my MVP of the season because i had high hopes for him but I had no idea he'd be playing like Pedri's equal in midfield.

No matter what happens in the future, let's say barnel comes back and is the best DM ever.

They need to write a story about this kid and what he's doing.

Fucking incredible the way the opportunity opened up for him and he just said, You will need an army to get my out this bitch.

LOVE IT.

Gavi was not supposed to be that player. Gavi is player that would always play higher up pitch.

Even with Bernal back I don't see us going back to a lone DM system. Either Pedri or Casado or Gavi or de jong will be next to him if he's starting. I think it helps too much to have 2 "DM"s in our midfield when playing such a high line.
Casado is here to stay i think he's similar to Pedri in that he can play both the concentrated DM role and as a CM in the system when needed.

I still can't understand how Xavi didn't give him any chances last season. He couldn't have been that bad and make a huge jump this summer? He wasn't 16 either.

He said he learnt a lot from Marquez, so maybe it was for the best, that extra year playing game in game out.

But I get the sentiment

Will not be easy for Gavi and Frenkie to bench him if they cannot play those line breaking passes and through balls Casado plays.

This time last year he was probably still playing rightback for the B to be fair. And the squad had Bob, Romeu and Gundy still to play with.
