17 - Marc Casadó

He will be a locked in starter until at least FDJ gets back. At least it seems like that's the case so far

Looks like Bernal and Casado should be our starting pivots for the start of the season with all the injuries with Gundo/Fermin in front of them. When FDJ and Gavi return we will see and try new combinations. No need to put Christensen or Gundo back there or buying some cheap old DM like last year.

A few pre season games qualify a starting lineup even for the season's start?
Would a coach lead the team with this logic, we would be playing in the second half of LaLiga table. The intensity in pre season matches and official matches differ like in games of 13 year olds and professionals.

I believe that too. But there is a chance Flick might want to start Christensen there. As these guys are quite young, he might not want to risk it.

What else beside trainings should?
Training is a good point. It's a progress in general. You can't simply reward a starting lineup solely because of 2 good low intensity matches between half complete teams with tired players. It's a big picture with trainings impression and confirmation in test games. If the coach has a good feeling, he can start by giving the player minutes in official matches and see how the player reacts to the real intensity and fight and manage the minutes from there.
That's the usual and right way how to handle young players. If he gets a really good feeling about a young player, he can start him in one game and go from there. But we don't see the training, so we can't say much about that part.

You do know about our situation with injuries? If we had Rodri than of course he would go in the team despite the good preformances from the kids but we don't. Who's the alternative?

I'm guessing one of Casado/Bernal gets paired with one of Christensen/Gundy.
Yea with fermin at 10, at the start of the season.

That or Christensen and gundogan as the pivots.

Bernal isn't ready yet, too conservative with his passes and casado, lacks the physical ability and raw talent to match his heart.

Could well be Christensen DM.. although surely Flick has to give him some minutes there in his system soon to get ready for it as could be the plan for a few games with Gavi out for a while and FDJ still uncertain when he will be back.

Or that Kante link as rumoured if Flick gives green light.. he is not a sitting DM either though.

Have to see how Fermin comes back form the double-nationals.

I actually think Bernal should be the choice when paired with a seasoned pro.

Let's say Fermin needs some rest for the season start.

Bernal-Christensen
------Gundagon-------

Wouldn't have any complaints if Casado was there instead.

You forget Pedri. News are he's gonna be fit for the season's start. He already runs on grass.
