International break is great for us footballing nations that are also good at it. Boosts national unity as well.
UEFA in particular had to dilute it with useless nations leagues and friendlies.
Qualifications for WC or EC in itselves are good and were even better before they allowed so much nations in due to charity.
Eh, only qualifiers that are interesting are South American ones. Extremely long (18 games over two years), traveling overseas, playing on a high altitude in La Paz and Quito and just overall very intense playing style most teams use.
Good teams in Europe maybe have one serious opponent in their group and almost surely at least one if not two stattpaders like Liechtenstein, Andorra or San Marino. Qualifying for Euros is a foregone conclusion for top teams and even average ones can qualify easier with expanded format.
And now will be also easier for European teams to qualify for WC - 16 teams instead of 13. Although confederation that will benefit mostly from expanding WC will be CAF (9 African teams will have a direct slot instead of 5).
