19 - Lamine Yamal

The expectations on him are skyrocketing as his reputation does. The only player he's being compared to is himself. If he produces masterclasses against the best teams while not performing against worse teams of course he will get slack because we know how good he can be.

For others his "bad" games are of a good level, so it's all relative. Messi getting 50 G/A in a season is an off season while others can only dream of reaching that. Same relative standards apply for Yamal nowadays.

Last few weeks have been very demanding, he's probably in need of some rest even if he doesn't understand it himself.

People overlook such passes because he's Lamine. If it was any other 17 year old internet would be going mad about those passes. Tells you all you need to know about his "poor performances" really. It's came to the point where people expect him to perform prime Messi level at 17.
Exactly. He is already becoming a victim of his own standards. This game he displayed some things that very few can provide with some of those passes. They were Messi-esque 100%.

People so badly want him to become a scorer are going to learn slowly that he isn't really about scoring and maybe never will be a huge scorer. But he is still extremely dangerous.

Didn't he score absurd amount of goals with the junior teams? He is still learning. Way too early to say he isn't much of a scorer. He improved in one season so much, in everything.

He did score a ton. But I mean Gavi scored a lot too I believe. Different world up here. I think 25 goals a season would be great for Yamal. Anything else and he is basically going to be an all timer

He'll never have a lot of goals nor will he reach his full potential under Bayernball but he'll get plenty of assists, Birdy's happy.

Not every player has to score a lot of goals to be great. But dominant is definitely the wrong word at this point. That would fit Raphinha right now.
He's likely just tired after this many games. Still hasn't had one bad game though, I find that more impressive, haven't seen anything like that from all the hyped EPL kids.

Only hyped up kid from PL is cold palmer
And he is only doing it vs mid teams in a mid league.

He does not have what it takes to cook in the biggest stages like yamal

Ronaldinho wasn't a dribbler neither Henry, Kaka mostly not, Cruyff not in top 5, Zidane not in top 5. Stop using cocaine. Messi, Maradona, Zico, Romario, Best, Iniesta, Isco and the list goes on and on. A dribbler, uses his knee, hip and his balance more than his ankle. Short people are way more effective at dribling because they are more agile, have better balance, shorter legs to manage.
I find it late but did someone say Isco is a dribbler while FREAKING RONALDINHO is not?
