2 - Pau Cubarsí

The Pale One
No, no. A right-footed passing defender is much more comfortable on the right and a left-footed defender on the left.(against pressing teams especially).
Cubarsi is an exception; he is clearly better on the left. He can open his body up and make those quarterback passes over the top behind the defenders, whereas on the right he cannot use the inside of his foot to find attacking runs through the center of the pitch as easily.

Crazy to think how some was unhappy Cubarsí was promoted by Xavi, even a few saying it was Catalan bias and that Faye and Mbacke were better prospects.

Xavi saw what we all know now, that this kid has the potential to be the world's best ball playing CB.

No one was unhappy, some thought he wasn't physically ready compared to others, but saw he was clearly super talented.
hmmm remember it as people were saying others should have been ahead of him. Nonetheless I'm happy Xavi introduced this kid to the first team.
