It does not follow from the Eric Garcia deal that Font would 'fold at the first sight of challenge'

AT ALL

I think he slandered Laporta for not keeping the initial deal with the 6m buy or whatever.

He also wanted Xavi to be manager and SD.

Then his team had the diversity hirings.

I just don't see how he would survive in the Barcelona pressure cooker, but I may be wrong.

The club is entrenched with politics and culture. This isn't a clean founded VC or anything he is used to.

1) IDK. IDK.
2) Nothing of any substance. Just hopeful hater scenarios.
3) Another educational episode, when you have the Bartomeu era hanging in the background.
4) Laughing at an officially signed sponsorship deal.
5) ???

Those "embarassment" moments I already addressed in my initial comment. Get a grip and stop acting like you have the nuclear button on this forum.

1) you brought it up. If you can't back it, it's nonsense

2) There is no 'scenarios'. Just a sound judgment about things. If the sporting side of things fail, it will take down the financial as well, since the 'wise' choice to pull levers made them as interdependent as ever

3) Dude, the guy is paying Lewa Gundo Ansu Raphina and Kounde Bartomeu money.
And you are talking about 'educational episodes'?

4) Laughing at your claim that LAporta's idiotic 'we are back' statements played any role

5) Again: painful decisions could be taken,
BUT with complete honesty, not with gaslighting the fans with his BS and his lies

Nothing to say on him embarrassing the club and the image of the club with Messi, Xavi, and tons of other statements/handlings

Yes, GET A GRIP
because you haven't any, as all the other Laporta apologists

About Xavi as manager/SD, that has always been a point of criticism towards him by me
After Xavi backstabbed him in 2021 elections, there are no relations between them.
So that story is over

The Eric Garcia deal is a minor thing in anycase.

He has a vision that no other candidate has. Let him try to implement it.
Laporta stumbles into decisions w/o plan, w/o vision, and with so many embarrassing for the club moments those almost 4 years

He won simply because he sold his past tenure, all the nostalgia that came with it, and also sold the lie that Pep will become again Barca coach.
He is past it, both in mindset and in the necessary skillset of someone leading in the football industry nowadays.
We are not in 2003

1) IDK what Dubai connection are you talking about.
You understand the difference selling club to Saudi state to any other scenario?
2) Still, you don't see how the financial and the sporting go hand to hand. If the sporting side fails, so will the financial since Laporta pulled levers
3) Go read how much he gave to Gundo. Also the renewals of Ansu, and the contracts given to Kounde and Raphina in 2022 were WAY ABOVE the market
The idiot is simply repeating the Bartomeu mistakes
4) LOL. Yeah, sure. Nike are idiots and believe whatever a non credible politician says.
5) Painful would not have mattered, if he was HONEST about it in the first place, and was not selling pipe dreams,
if he did not consider every one of us gullible sheep who will believe whatever BS comes out of his mouth

I see you did not comment anything about the embarrassment he has inflicted on the image of the club with Messi, and with all the signings he does not know if he is able to register...

Good try,
try again...

This guy is a clown and obvious MADRID fan
ban his ass already i am begging you mods

I will not shit on Xavi decision.

We picked Frank who was shit, sacked somewhere in Netherlands. Won treble with us.
We picked pep who was doing drugs in Brescia coached only our B team. Won treble.
We picked Lucho who was doing iron man challenges, only coached our B team. Won treble.

Faith is a universal virtue. Xavi was a right pick albeit unreasonable.
Rijkaard never won us the treble but great message and I agree.

@Windhook

If you don't know how much wages Laporta is giving...
(mind you we are still paying Gundogan this season, after he left)

Every sane person (unlike the Laporta apologists) sees that his contracts are undermining the financial stability of the club.
Right from Bartomeu's book

Too much talk about 'wage structure', etc., too little (and so bad) action...
Why are we still paying Gundogan

So is Perez, your point?
My point is that having a successful business or being a successful businessman does not necessarily translate into being a good president of such as a big club like Barcelona. Especially managing a club in such an unstable state like Barcelona is right now.

There are many nuances to that. Financial planning, sporting planning, managing players, managing players' big egos, managing their financial and sporting appetites, infrastructure planning etc. You name it.

Frenkie
Ansu
Lewa

Once those 3 are removed that basically frees up 3 potentially world class players to join Barca on those wages.

Lewa's wages will be for [Insert WC Striker]
Ansu could be a LW's wages
Frenkie could be a RB/LB with a lot left over.

The left over wages sadly will go towards Gavi/Pedri/Yamal and any others that will need increased wages on new contracts

I think if we dont go for Haaland or an expensive EPL striker, we can easily save on Lewa's wages. While not losing on quality.
Lookman or a player of that sort will be considerably cheaper, while essentially an LW backup, which Ansu is and the replacement will be.

Of course but it also doesn't mean a successful bussinessman can't be a great president. Prefer that than some slimy politican like Laporta. Don't know if Fort is the one.

Imagine the total about of great players that have come through our club and while we are one of the top 2 biggest teams in the world, we should have had more success than we've had, but we were constantly held back by bad management/leadership.

Then you have a president like Laporta who is basically directly responsible for 3 of the 5 CL titles we have, God knows how many league titles.

A brand new stadium.

Who brought us from the brink not once but twice.

And a few people are like naaaaaah, insert guy were could be better.

Our rivals are happy he left when he did, or it would have been total dominance for 15-20 years.

Keep Laporta in charge for as long as he wants like Madrid did with Florentino.

I don't care that much about the little things.

It's the same as in politics. Voters get overly angry with little things, they elect people with silver tongue who promise grand stuff, they get in office, and fuck things up.

Moral of the story is a proven leader who loves the club is hard to get. So when you have one like Laporta who built legendary sides, you hold on to him. You don't chase him away because he doesn't fit your idea of a perfect president.
