20 - Dani Olmo

When a Manager is fired, the club owes him payment for the remaining time of the contract. My understanding is that if the manager takes on another job with a new club before the contract with the original club has expired, the original club would only owe the manager the difference in salary between the old and new contract.

I reckon it would work similarly for a player? Fact check this. I am not sure?

Also, this is Spain we’re talking about. Expect some chaos and drama before a resolution is found.

Obviously it's like this. No one gets employed twice and paid twice. Just more ridiculous hysteria from the usual klick baiting SM accounts. People just need to use normal rational logic. The club pays as long as he is an employee of the club, be it coach or player. As soon as he finds a new job, the old one expires.
And the payment for differences between salaries is also something that is negotiated individually and always depends on each situation. If a club is forcing a player out, then of course he will demand at least the same salary. But if the player wants to leave himself, no such clause will be negotiated obviously.

Laporta no
Bartomeu si

❌💰 Failing to register Dani Olmo is equivalent to wasting €263M:

▫️ €48M his salary
▫️ €55M transfer fee
▫️ €60M his market value
▫️ €100M loss from VIP seats

Holy fuck. If that happens bring a vote of no confidence and vote Laporta out ASAP. He would rival Bartomeu in gross incompetence and corruption.
It is a legal matter in nature but it is likely we would have to pay out his full contract if he demanded it, because we have broken the terms of the contract.

He may agree to stay even if his registration fails, but that is his prerogative, basically we are at the mercy of his decision.

If this case went to CAS they would rule in Olmo's favour and we would be obliged to pay out his full contract DEPENDENT on his next transfer move.

We would likely have to pay the difference in wages between what he gets at his new club and what he had here, and we will need to pay compensation for early breach of contract.

This will likely be sorted, but again at a considerable cost, we will be scrambling desperately to sell players or assets below their value like we did with Faye at the start of the season. They are already saying we are trying to offload Christensen and Roque ASAP to get the money ; and we will have to sell them at a dirt cheap value because LaLiga have us by the balls.

Average mcdonalds league defender and red card merchant, good sale.

That brazilian fraud should never have been bought, and Christensen won't bring in much anyway since nobody knows his level.

You'd have to laugh at it. Some situations are dire and bad, but somehow the amusement still exceeds all of that.

I cannot even blame him tbh.

I'm sure they promised a lot of things when they signed him. Then he had to wait in agony when the league started to be registered and be able to play, and now this.

6-8 months without competitive football isn't great. Might mean he starts next season very rusty and out of form, in a year that will be important for all players to do well due to the World Cup in 2026.

He very likely stays though.

Doubt it happens, but I wonder what the reactions around here will be if he triggers his clause to leave for free.

I think a lot of people here would love that to happen, some have already suggested as much.

People here seem to enjoy the drama, more than actually supporting the club. If that drama hurts the club terribly, so be it.

Self inflicted.... and I called it out many months ago but all my conerns were drowned in the myriads of delusion and buffonery of a lot here.

financially and sport wise, Barca committed a suicide with this transfer.

It is now clesr that Barca is a poorly managed club. On top of that, you have very delusional fan base that are irrational beyond any imagination. It needs a serious surgical clean out if it will ever come back again.

I cant believe that a reasonable person would have thought this signing was necessary, talkmore of a broke club paying 60m for someone not so exceptional while you had players similar profile. Why let Gundogan go when you could have preserved the 60m to improve the squad.?
