And he was traded for Halilovic..

He wasn't traded for Halilović.

We don't know how Olmo would developed had he stayed here (it's very likely he would leave a year or two later anyway though) but he made the right move for his career. Moving to a dominant team in a smaller league where he was guaranteed a lot of minutes and also some European experience at a very young age is a lot better than moving straight to a big club who are then loaning you out for years.

Obviously, Cesc has made it to Arsenal's first XI at 16/17 and Icardi succeeded too (though he first went to Sampdoria for a season) at Inter but on the other hand a lot of our kids who went to EPL clubs and even those who signed for clubs knowing to give a lot of chances to young players like Monaco (Mboula) or Dortmund (S.Gomez) didn't get much first team minutes so far and Mboula was already loaned out to Belgium.

So sometimes making a step back (going to a smaller club) to later make two or three steps forward is the right decision. It worked out very well for Olmo so far but he'll also need to select the right club now to progress further.

Said he'd like to get play in Spain. We and Madrid are stacked, I don't see who'd fork 30 million that's minimum Dinamo would accept.

He is not crazy to go for B team after he already established himself. He would be a great addition to any La Liga team except Barca or Real.

I know. Sadly he won't return to Barça in some time. He will go to some mid tier club. Maybe it is better for him to do so. In Barça he would be eaten alive after first 2 3 bad games.

This kid is exceptional talent. Just need a little more to grow.

He will in no way end like Halilović because he has a totaly different attitude.

Don't think he was guaranteed a lot of minutes. He was simply very good.

Barca really need to re-examine their youth policy. Don't know what's the legal issues but setting up a connection with a smaller club to loan players to would be a great move and we could have them closer to home.

Of course he earned his minutes but breaking into the first team and establishing there at a young age is a lot easier at Dinamo Zagreb than at bigger clubs/in better leagues.

We've made some positive changes to prevent talents leaving over the last few years. Kids are having higher buy out clauses than in the past but some of them who won't want to sign a first professional contract with us (like Xavi Simons) will still leave. There is not much we can do to keep those want-away kids and I won't miss them tbf. I want us to concentrate on players who wants to succeed here.

We've also signed a partnership with Utrecht a month ago so we could loan our youngsters to them. Rumours are Oriol Busquets could be the first one and I've seen the name of Miranda as well. We'll see if/how this will work but Eredivisie is a good league for developing young players so I like this idea in theory.

Better as an offensive midfielder than all of our current options.

He has dribbles, key passes and shots in his blood, unlike our other key midfielders, who have other virtues in their blood.

** 10 dribbles in a CL match, lol.

Wouldn't mind him either. Can he play on the right side of the midfield?
