20 - Dani Olmo

Raphinha, Lewandowski, Yamal, Olmo and Pedri basically have locked spots as starters for a big game if available.

The last midfield spot is a battle between Casado, Gavi and Frenkie.

He's so exciting to watch. He's one of those smart, creative, inventive players who'll always try to make something happen instead of recycling the ball and taking the safe route. This sport needs more risk takers and magicians like KDB.

I haven't watched Liverpool this season without Kloppo. What's your assessment on their level? CL contenders?

Liverpool look very good tbh. Slot has given them the control they lacked with Klopp's chaotic football that sometimes would end up backfiring.
Although only watched a few games so Temptation would prob give a better assessment.

Just rotate the midfield 3 and they all stay safer from injury and also fresh. If the midfield is never tired they will be a buzz saw when the games start stacking up

I'm sure Flick will, or at least hope he does. Just saying that on what I have seen, those guys will be really tough to beat out for a starting spot.

If you're going off what you've seen, Casado would/should be in there too.

So de jong and gavi are bench players.

Right now Casado is the starter, but he's also a rookie when it comes to first team football tbh. So there's a higher likelihood of some inconsistency from him.
Won't rule out Gavi and Frenkie also doing well in the next month or two.

It's a good situation to be in.

Amazing. Slot is great. Better than expected. We have only conceded 3 goals in the league.

We are less chaotic and more controlled and possession based now. VVD has been imperious this season. Best CB in the game easily. Konate might be borderline world class at this point. Trent has improved defensively and pocketed Sancho 1 on 1 recently. Robbo reliable as ever.

Midfield has been completely transformed. Slot has reinvented Gravenberch as a DM and completely rejuvenated his lukewarm career. Guy is playing like Prime Viera this season. Macca has been good. Szoboszlai has been average but Slot likes him and is trying to play him as more of an attacking midfielder.

On paper, we should be CL contenders for sure. The defense has been rock solid and our attacking options are Salah, Jota, Diaz, Gakpo, Nunez, Chiesa. Insane depth.

Big game against Arsenal coming up.

Bringing him on to the pitch when the opposition is tired is a cheat code. There are few players in the world I can think of that I expect something to happen every time they get the ball, more than I do with him.

He either initiated an attack, creates a chance, or shoots on goal most of the time he gets the ball. Insane player to watch.

I know he lost the ball a few times but he had a lot of great moments too and was actively involved in creating great chances.

I find it hard to believe he's much worse on days I don't watch him - especially as I watch him often against good teams in high-pressure games.

I honestly think he's world-class and am frankly surprised he's not lauded more. He seems to fly under the radar for the average football fan.

I don't understand why he doesn't get credit too but I think it's just cause he doesn't have the marketing behind him plus he's frequently injured.
If he can shine consistently here he will start getting the recognition he deserves.
He always seems to create something dangerous, whether it's a shot, a pass or a dribble.

Yeah I honestly think it's the marketing. He doesn't seem to be on covers of FIFA games, isn't in the media much (correct me if I am wrong?) doesn't have superstar vibes as a person. He's just a really, really good footballer who doesn't really have 'star power' (whatever the fuck that means) off the pitch.
