Football might have died, and the world will definitely end this year, but let's not cross the line.

They won, we might not like it, but insulting Antonn isn't dignified at all.

Why are people so boring? Why is it when a weak or underdog team wins a high-profile cup everyone starts to hate? I don't understand.

I never said we are a great side, and I don't care if we are or not. We won the CL, we beat you guys cause you were shit against us. Not our problem, all that matters now is celebrating this magnificent win for the club.

by trolling on a Barca forum...

Eh ? I supported many underdog teams in cup competitions. But they actually had real balls and courage to actually undertake the odd attempt to create chances and they were often weaker financially and in terms of playing resources.

It say's it all about this club that they played anti football like cowards despite their 'wealth', even keeping the grass long at their stadium when playing Barca like the truly smalltime club they are.

Teams like Liverpool and Manchester United were built on the basis of the work of coaches like Busby and Shankley over time , not by ill gotten money.

I don't even know why you're on this forum. The way Barca win trophies is to be enjoyed in their fluidity and passing on the pitch. Perhaps you would do well to recall Real Madrid in the fifties and sixties and how they earned their reputation (albeit with some help) for attractive football.

Samely if you don't know why I'm on the forum being a rival supporter, I don't know if I should reply to this. I've heard this dozens of times from all of the people who want everything to go rationally, so that the best team wins, and any team who doesn't deserve to win for whatever reason is automatically flamed.

I feel sad for the people with this kind of approach to sport.

People just prefer heart to win over money. As a madridista, I don't expect you to understand ;)

I actually always felt that people tend to sympathize with the underdog and hate on the favorites...

I feel sorry that you don't have enough brain cells to understand what I have written. But then again you are a Madridista.

Beat Valencia in the group stages despite being being outplayed.
Outplayed by Napoli.
Lucky vs Benfica.
Outplayed and lucky vs Barcelona.
Poor vs Bayern.

CHelsea deservedly beat Valencia at SB. For all their possession, valencia were barely any threat to them. At Mestalla, Chelsea created innumerable chances, and without D.alves' heroics, it would 've been an annihilation of the home side.
They were outplayed at Stadio San Paolo, but put in a solid display at home.
Benefica didn't make use of home advantage, and looked underwhelming at their ground. But put in a better showing at SB.

The only teams that really outplayed them start to finish were Barca and Bayern.

-----------------------

Not surprised with the result. With the way the semis went, you just knew this had to be their year. No team wins a K.O tournament without a slice of luck. Only Chelsea had large chunks of it.

It's not over until its over (esp a game of this magnitude). Bayern thought they'd won it at 83rd min and Heynckes substitution (bringin in VB for Müller) not just changed the immediate complex of the match, but also disurbed their fluidity in middle, and their threat going forward. With Müller out, Gomez was finding himself more and more isolated and crowded out in the box, and Robben's selfish play (trying to always cut in and go for personal glory), instead of focusing on delivery in to the box(and when he did they were inaccurate) didn't help matters. Ribery earned the peno, but he was disappointing otherwise, injury or not, his departure wasn't really a big loss.
Another showing of Kroos that i wasn't impressed with. I failed to see y people rate him so much. He was probabaly the worst player on the pitch (from both sides) in the first half (atrocious passing and wayward shooting).
Bayern's finishin' was quite poor on the night. Robben, Müller, Gomez chances went begging. And Schweiny missin' the peno summed up their night. For all their play and possession, they wern't on target enough.(much like us in semis)
Neuer, Lahm, Boateng (getting beat by Drogba on that corner apart), and Tymoshchuk were Bayern's better players.

As for Chelsea...
There isn't any football to discuss. But the brilliance of 4 players - Čech, Ramires, Drogba, A.Cole (in that order) that proved decisive to their campaign (honourable mention to Mikel who turned around a disappointing individual season to some solid displays towards the end).

Commiserations to el tren, and Bayern fans on board. Congrats to Chelsea. You weren't glorious footballing terms, but you kept dedicated to your task and finished your mission on a success.

Well said, i totally agree with you.

Chelsea won the CL with a combination of horrible game + luck never seen in my life (worse than the teams coached by mou).
On Sky the interviewer asked Di Matteo if he find his way of playing football good......he simply went away without answering.

Some poor provocations from the people :p

So Chelsea players did not show heart? Why so? Because of the ultra-defensive tactics which they've probably used most after the fall of catenaccio ignoring Mourinho's teams?

You can't also win on talent all the time. I doubt when all the greats are gone Barca the team will rely on cantera. Talents come and go. Some teams don't produce enough of them and have to build around what they have using money. Some teams have more of these and buy less. Would people hate City for winning the cup if they showed uttermost class while doing so despite being built solely on money (ignoring the fact that most people will root for them because they dislike United)?

They do, but most do so only for the underdogs they like and the favorites they hate. I for example love Philadelphia 76ers winning against the Bulls, love Memphis Grizzlies winning vs Spurs or otherwise. Which is why I loved Liverpool back in the day despite hating Benitez to the core.

And for people who say Chelsea were not underdogs.. What?

my predication:

- drogba at he's very best.
- alot of fear going forward (as with all finals_
- shit game from robben
- atleast 2 terrible misses by gomez.
-shit game by mata

final score: 2-2 a last minute header for drogba gives chelsea hope and a win for bayern in extra time or penalties.
WTW.

Sure, Drogba wasnt super except for the epic goal, Chelsea took the penalties, and it was 1-1. But still. You could sum up the game like that and blame some misstakes.

Funniest part of this game is that there is a Swedish Journalist living and dying (mostly dying) with Tottenham. He proclaimed that Chelsea would win this no matter what, because thats how god threats Spurs, nothing else matters. And sure as hell, Bayern where up with a few minutes left of the game. They missed a penalty in overtime. And why not, while we are at it: the germans lost a penalty shootout. And Spurs missed CL.
