I don't think Chicharito will start. Since Rooney isn't going to be dropped, they'll have to play two strikers if Chicharito plays, which means a two man midfield.

I can understand people being optimist because on paper we're better than them, but also on paper AC Milan were way better than Liverpool in 2005, on paper Birmingham should've not been Carling Cup champions this year. say whatever you want but whoever watched football for over a decade will know that finals are always always always 50-50. hopefully we'll beat ManUtd because we really deserve it more than them.

Well, they really didn't face a competitive and strong team through their way into final. Considering it's Manchester united we're talking about it's not really a big surprise!

I could only define this United team as opportunists. They're not exciting, they're not glamorous, neither graceful. And without Scholes & Giggs (which age combined is 73), their midfield looks like a total shite. But they're opportunists and they will probably punish every mistake we make against them.

After his team lost to Bayern last year, Fergie described them as "typical germans". This United I could describe as a "typical United". Their football is far from art, but they're still winning.

Exactly! THIS THIS THIS! Manchester United couldn't have be described clearer than this!

They don't play artistically like we do, and they don't know how to keep the ball either but unfortunately, the thing which they definitely do know is how not to blow even a single opportunity.

What gives them opportunities? Well to be honest, we shouldn't lose the ball in the match, by foolish mistakes (listen up Busquets :gap:), even once! If we do, it's not far from the imagination that they'll score! You guys remember what Pedro did against Real Madrid? We should clean forget about doing those stuff in the final...

Barca are so strong but our rival exactly knows how to punish us with our little little mistakes, it's kinda their nature! So ummm, we really have to be careful if we wanna be happy after the match.

Well but after all, I'm so optimist about this game!

Manchester, England (Sporting Alert) — Sir Alex Ferguson turned to his pal Jose Mourinho for advice as Manchester United prepares to face Barcelona in the Champions League final later this month.

Ferguson watched his side hammered Shalke 4-1 at Old Trafford on Wednesday to book their final slot 6-1 on aggregate, and the United manager says he will take some tips from Mourinho on how to get the better of Pep Guardiola’s side, which has been dominant this season.

But despite their dominance, Barcelona are beatable and Mourinho showed that when he led Madrid to the Copa Del Rey crown over the arch great rivals.

Ferguson was quoted as saying on MirrorFootball: “I speak to Jose quite a lot.

“I spoke to him last week, in fact. It’s not as if we haven’t seen Barcelona before.

“We’ve played them before and watched them many times this season. But we’ll take any information, because Jose is very helpful that way.”

Barcelona beat United in the 2009 final and will start heavy favourtes to win again this term, but Fergie says his team must show no fear.

“I don’t think we should be going into the final lacking confidence,” he said. “Barcelona’s form has been very good this season and we’re playing a fantastic team.

“But they haven’t got a terror against us and we can’t be frightened out of our skin. We’ve got to find a solution to playing against them.

“We were the favourites the last time we played them. Maybe we have a little more experience, but they’re certainly at their peak.

“I wish it was Brechin City or someone like that instead!

“At the start of the season, if you look to the final, you’d want to steer clear of Barcelona because their performance level is there for everyone to see.

“But our away form in Europe has been terrific and we’ve found a way of playing away from home. Wembley is a neutral ground, but we’ll be well prepared for that game.”

Look, any team with some talented offensive players can score against Barça, especially pacy tricky ones. Man U moves the ball well, but that may not be the case against Barça's pressing. As for Barça, if they have space, they'll create opportunities to score; if Man U plays behind the ball, Barça will have the same problem it always does against such teams.

If it's an open game, 3-1 Barça. If Man U sits back, 1-1 in regular time.

Man U won't open themselves. Sir Alex won't lose two finals in a same way, he's not some dumb old man who lost his brain.

it's will be tough, that's for sure, hope we get all our injured players back and make it spectacle... i would say 55-45 in Barca favor...

I don't know why.....but I feel like this might be a spectacular final. I think it's very possible we can walk away with a terrific result. I mean I can easily see us winning by 2-3 goals. When if i think about Man U winning I can't see it being by more then one goal. I think we have the perfect team to tear them apart. Even against Scholes and Giggs I think we can dominate the mid-field. Their defense is troubling....but I think if we can control the mid-field and push forward there's nothing they can do to stop the likes of MVP. Especially the M lol...I see Messi making important runs in this game ending in goals for him or someone else. I also see Iniesta playing a big role in the game. Xavi will control the game as usual. Our defense HAS to be up to the task. Nani,Rooney,Berbatov, and Chicharito are all very dangerous....that being said I think we are up to it.
For now I want to see how we handle the wrapping up the league.

I think Manchester United will struggle against Barca. Just like two years ago where they only could play for 10 minutes. And even then they had a much stronger team than now. If Barca players don't make individual mistake Manchester have a hard time breaking through this team.

They will be smarter. A lot smarter. Man Utd were the favorites in 09 because they dominated the EPL (as well as Arsenal in the semis) while we struggled against Chelsea's physicality. They were convinced that they could overwhelm us so they decided to attack, pressuring high up the pitch. That pressure unsettled us a bit early on and it wasn't until Samu netted the opener that we grew more confident and got our swagger back. Thing is, the moment that swagger reappeared, Man Utd were toast. Dead and buried. They were running and running and running but couldn't get near the ball as we chained dozens of passes together with ease. The pressure was intense but it wasn't very smart, certainly not as smart as our movement.

With all that in mind, I have a feeling that Man Utd will concede possession this time. They have done it before, they did it last night against Schalke. With the electric pace they have on the wings, we can get roasted on the break if we get sloppy with out passing. I don't think they want us having 70% but they're gonna be aware of their own strengths and weaknesses (which was not the case in Rome) and try to win the game in an area we don't excel in, as opposed to challenging us in an area we fuckin' perfected.
