They should have had a copa America or get one now but they aren't as good as this generation of spanish/German players, so I don't think it's a disaster they don't have a wc.

I've always said it and I'm saying it again now: Argentina's biggest rival is always Argentina. Once again we make life hard for ourselves. I donno what's with the Argentine coaches and the players. Once they are in the national time awkward decisions comes after one another. I'm sure Tata is not that naive not to realize he was losing the midfield in the second half. Yet he underestimated Paraguay too much that he assumed even when his team was under the pressure they could outscore the opponent by inserting two #9 at the same time!

From his decisions and the players performance I assume they underestimated the opponent way too soon. Now we are condemned to beat Uruguay and if the same mistakes are about to happen once more I'm afraid this is not gonna end up well.

I think Tata read the game badly. And to make things worse, he coached paraguay for a while, he should know better how to handle them. There was no need for both Tevez and Higuain.

With Paraguay Tata achieved some success. 1/4final in WC 2010, where Spain had many troubles against Tata's solid team. And final in Copa America 2011.
Also Tata won an individual prize - 2007 manager of the year in South America. But...as I said, he didn't win any competitive (two legged) cup. Only 2 leagues in Paraguay (2003,2004).

Tata needs to keep going. Build a team around Messi for next WC. Introduce few younger players and have some experienced ones too. Then try to make predictable stlye/brand of football like Lucho has done to Barca. It can be done in NT, but its going to be hard. Everytime some new coach comes they start playing different brand of football only constant is passing to Messi

I have not lost hope on Argentina. Let's see what happens in the game vs Uruguay, I am sure the players will be highly motivated after a game like this crap.

Argentina were gifted two goals, that said they had hundreds of chances to bury the game and didn't take them, Paraguay were pointless in the first half.

Paraguay stepped there game up in the 2nd & were a completely different team, scored two wonder goals, what are you going to do about that. How anybody can put it on Tata is rubbish, Argentina with all the chances should have been out of sight, that's not on him. But the blame game, no surprises, gotta blame someone

Looking forward to Uruguay's hatchet men take on Argentina, if anybody deserves a good kick, it's Di Maria, he may have an excuse to roll around this time

Hopefully this is Higuains laat big competition. Man is a shell of his former self...

I donno about the bold part. He's always been a hot and cold player. I was saying the same thing here to Beast some years ago and he was as classy as ever laughing at me for saying Higuain is wasteful. Higuain on his bad day (which is not few tbh) is truly dreadful to watch: Wasteful, lazy, uninterested, invisible and choker to the bone. As Edmond Dantes pointed out he doesn't look physically fit either. I think he needs to move to a more challenging club than Napoli for his own good. If he continues like this he better get dropped from the NT, at least for a time being, and the chance goes to the likes of Dybala, Icardi and Vietto to prove themselves.
