Chile gung-ho approach has never worked on Brazil or Argentina even whether they are home or away. Their inability to defend and weaknesses on setpieces make Argentina heavy favorites if they matchup IMO.

You can tell who watches S.American footy regularly, and who doesn't. Chile is the last team I'm worried about as ARG's potential opponent. And this is not me being unreasonable or biased, but CHL's open and expansive play suits ARG, and regardless of what form either team brings, ARG almost always beats them. I may be wrong but they have only managed one win against ARG thus far.

The most overrated thing since sliced bread... Thiago Silva...
built his reputation partnering CB greats ... now just a crap captain & defender... what was it ? 2-3 years through out his career that he played well
he belongs to Beach volley not football..

Sad for Brazil but i guess it was coming.. since 1994 Brazil relied on the skills of the attack not the team play.. so Romario-Bebeto , Ronaldo-Romario , Ronaldo-Rivaldo, Ronaldo - Rivaldo- Ronaldinho... etc

Apart from Neymar.. Brazil needs drill Sargent general with a great tactical knowledge... they need a Pep ... there is the talent but not he effort and certainly not the state of mind to do something for the shirt unlike all previous generation who were demons once they put on the shirt..
Brazil need a proper partner for Neymar.. a proper very talented dynamic no 9... Neymar can be the Bebeto/Rivaldo ... they need to find the Romario/Ronaldo for the theme of Brazil 94 & beyond to work.. or go back to 82-86 theme... sad for me as a football fan

Brazil used to ooze quality, nowadays its Neymar, a few decent players and several scrubs. I like Brazil if the 80's and late 90's early 00's. 2006 was extremely strong on paper but not so great on the pitch, like Barca in 08.

I though Ode our resident Milanista will come rushing to the cause too.. since we had this discussion when Real met Milan few years ago & Silva was there...

I stand by my opinion he is truly overrated

Nah i'm bored of recycling discussions, Silva was outstanding with Milan & even outperformed the great Nesta (albeit an aged one, still WC) i don't say it lightly as Nesta is my favorite. He was very good in Paris for his first year also, after that i didn't watch. People don't like him, find him overrated - fine, each to there own.

There are no excuses for his handball & he did it recently too, can't really be explained. All i know, is i watched every game w/ him at Milan and he was pretty much flawless.
